you start over as a completely fresh crew yes.

my question was about the progress of the research, the crew was obvious, sadly you can have only 3 slot and no reserve.

meaning, you start at the exact same spot as you did the first time. When you have completed the game, it is indeed over. So zero research, zero knowledge of Derelicts, at lvl 1.

so just to be clear, i start a new game discover and entire derelict, unlock a research and on the second derelict my crew dies, what happen?

well that's game over if you used Hardcore mode. You could load a save if you selected normal mode.

New Game always start with 500 credits, crew on level 1 with zero XP, nothing researched or bought, and the derelicts are all RNG so that's also fresh. The only thing that changes after having finished a game is that there are additional "skins" to choose from when selecting their looks in the character generation screen. They also say that new gear can be selected as well, but I have actually never tried that and don't know how you can change up the starting gear.

The unlocking of research is not a one-time thing. You have to go through that in every game.

ok thank you. The definition of rogue like mean a lot of things i thought was like Tainted Grail, you try and die and keep some progress and the more you try and unlock stuff the easier the game become until you reach the end game scenarios when you need to develop the character properly and pray for the RNG don't messed up too much. Thank you again for the answers i just need them because i play near 2 hours and can't refund the game otherwise.

No Roguelike just means that the level design is rng and grid-based, often endless.
