I was playing my game as my engineer Slaan mining every asteroid in the area before restarting. However when I exited the game and later started it up again, in that save a crew member was promoted to captain and Slaan was a crew member. I'm going to see what happens if I kill the new captain. Edit: Executing 2 crew members got Slaan into the captain spot again. I then suicided to save Slaan's character progress since mining many asteroid fields had leveled him a lot and I didn't want that glitch to ruin ...
