Framerate stutter then controller disconnect?
I would first like to note in case anyone ask, this is a newer computer, with a Geforce 2080, intel R core i7, and rams 32 GB. I'm no way of an expert on computers, but i know my fair share a bit, that I should be able to run this game without any particular issues.

With that being said, I been playing majority of my games on steam with my xbox 360 controller and never had any issues, but after purchasing this game today and reaching the castle and a few cut scenes, the game takes a mad dive, stutter for about a good 10-15 seconds, Miriam moving on her own or just stands there taking a hit, then when it finally stops, the game ask me to reconnect my controller.

I followed a few topics resolved by turning off the Vsync and Framerate smoothing, no go.
I even turned all settings from epic to low, and it still happens...

Could anyone give me some kind of idea how to resolve this issue?

This is strange behavior I haven't seen. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver for your controller. If you have software in addition to the driver, uninstall and reinstall that too.

I went to device manager and uninstalled xbox wireless controller and remove device under device and printer, reinstalled the controller back to bluetooth and it still happened. I died fighting Zangetsu.

Another user with similar issues reported switching their controller to wired mode fixed their problems.

Turn your settings back up to epic! For god's sakes man, turn V-Sync back on! /jk but seriously those settings aren't what's causing this for you.

Even though all Xbox controllers since 360 use the xinput input method, they each have their own drivers. Some games work fine with a 360 controller but just refuse functionality with a Xbox One controller, or some other such thing. I have this problem sometimes when using an Xbox One controller on some older niche Japanese ports, and sometimes need to switch to a 360 controller. At the very least, I can confirm that I can play this game without issue using a Xbox One controller and a Series X controller, though I've never tried a 360 controller.

Are you on Windows 10? You said you have a new PC, so I assume you're on 10. There were recently some issues with Windows 7 and this game, and even though those problems were supposedly resolved in a recent patch, it's possible there might be lingering issues.

Are your video drivers up to date? You said you aren't as knowledgeable about PC gaming as you could be; when I first started playing on PC, video driver updates tripped me up a lot. Games are updated to work best alongside current video drivers, and vice versa. Outdated video drivers cause so many weird issues, and it could absolutely cause the issue you're experiencing. You're using an Nvidia card, so you'd update your drivers with GeForce Experience.

Have you checked your controller settings in Big Picture mode? Personally, I hate having to mess with PB mode. But I can think of possible reasons a bad controller config could be causing this. For instance, if Steam thinks your Xbox controller is also a PS4 controller and a Steam controller, it could be attempting to read all control types at once, which could potentially cause massive frame stuttering. That's just one possibility, of course. But it's definitely something worth checking out.

I do apologize for the late response, I've been moving as late but anyhoo....

As for Milord suggestion, this honestly works perfectly, as it definitely an issue with the 360 wireless controller. I had no particular issues after I switch to a wires controller.

As for Emerald Lance, I figure it may not been the settings, but I tried to just in case as to prior suggestions on other topics.

My windows is 10 home, my video driver is on the latest update. I did mess with the controller settings a little bit on steam, but not enough to really go through it, especially since I don't use big picture mode at all, in every game I play so far has never been an issue with the controller, but I'll look into it today.

hello i know this is a few years old now but I just had a similar problem and this might help someone. (if i did a combo for example my frames would drop by 10 and game would freeze for a split second and then my controller would disconnect and reconnect after a few seconds.) I thought that was a bit weird so i tried playing with my keyboard and it worked perfectly fine, so I unplugged my controller (i have a wired controller) and plugged it into a different usb port on my pc and everything was absolutely fine. I honestly don't know the reason why this worked but it did for me. (wtf i just realised this is a post about a completely different game. I was talking about Mortal Kombat 1 but for some reason it brought me here, anyways i'll leave it.)
