The fences that come with residential buildings don't adjust to the sloping ground anymore. Building on the side of a hill means that the fence floats above the ground on one side of the house and on the other side it's buried in the hill.

Specially built village fences go up and down hills but have tall upright rocks and wooden poles floating above the fences every couple of steps
