The mechanic has changed since 1.0 release. You no longer spawn the sheep as you paint the field and it auto populates slowly. I am sure they will change it again at some point :)

Hello, thanks for your reply. As I could not spam sheep anymore I spawned the buildings themselve (something like 10 but I think you can have less than that) and after a while the black sheep appeared :)

Hi, I just got this - All you need is to create a farm with a very large field (near 3 times bigger) where 50+ sheep can be spammed

I can confirm that you can get the black sheep by spamming overly large sheep pastures. I probably went overkill with it, but I took about 10 territories worth of space and built 4 pastures that completely filled all of them. As the sheep began to spawn on the pastures, I got the achievement.
