I don't think "fujoshi" ever refers to the type of game, it's the person who plays that sort of game. Sort of like "weeaboo" isn't a genre, it's a derisive term for people too into certain things. Fujoshis play otome games.

no, fujoshi play "yaoi" games. hence the title of the thread calls for yaoi. don't aruge about semantics like a smartass.

also, consider to following interpretation....

Otome means girl. fujoshi means rotten woman. "Rotten woman" overcomes a mere "girl" with her age and expereince.

A "girl" wants games that will put her as center of attraction for several good looking, usually older men, most likley as some sort of manifestation of subconscious dad issues. She's young, and immature and wants to be pandered to, and it's easy to manipulate her. Hence why the people pulling the strings of inivisble free market created an entire genre of games called "otome", specifially designed to pander to the desires of innocent otome's heart, and mockingly calling itself a girl game to further secretly make fun of and twist the minds of the unsuspecting victims.

In opposition to the innocence of a "girl" stands the life hardened Fujoshi. This woman, who once herself was an otome, is rotten with many terrible experiences of the every day war we call "life". Having long overcometh the weaknesses of heart-daddy issues, attention starvation, desire to be recoginzed and complemented- she has realized the most important thing in life....the perfection that is a well groomed male body, and the purity of male to male relationship, unsullied by the faults of female gender.

Rather than waiting to be manipulated and pandered to by others, and waiting for them to make an entire genre named after her then sold her by 10x the price, she has boldly stepped foward and created a new genre with her own power-and called it "no climax, no point, no meaning" to further distance herself from the past mistakes of otome life! Indeed, calling a yaoi game a "fujoshi" game would not be incorrect as even today, in the year 2017 anno domini, these women are the ones responsible for the existance of most yaoi games, manga and artworks in existance.

Fujoshi is otome who overcame herself. She is too developed both emotionally and spiritually to be able to enjoy an "otome" game.

A fujoshi would play a BxB game, not a GxB game, like an otome.

I really don't think that paragraph of an explanation is neccessary.

Why would a thread like this make someone hate fujoshis?

I mean, yeah, they've got a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ reputation because it mainly consists of thirsty teenage girls and some others just go overboard (cough, PutoTyra, cough) but otherwise it isn't too bad.

OP makes a fair point, too. There aren't a lot of BL/yaoi games/VNs compared to the yuri or otome genre.

oh, it was half a satire and I was like, drunk.

In all honesty I do enjoy otome games as much as yaoi, at least as long as the publisher went through effort toactually translate them(ahem), and I just wanted to rant a little bit.

But I do not in the least bit understand the hate of fujoshi, so im going to sing praises to them every time I can for a proper reaction to an action.

Coming Out On Top is on Steam now. With any luck mangagamer plans to put Hashihime on here, too. There aren't a ton of otome or BL games on the platform (more of the former than the latter, but both get rings run around them by the amount of bishoujo games on here), but I'll be happy the more releases we get of both genres. I'll play any VN but I particularly enjoy these.

I'm sorry to say but if you actually read the game synopsis before buying it, it refers to the protagonist as female more than once. Dont be disappointed because you saw a flat chested protagonist and assumed their gender incorrectly.
