how to buy goods in the market?

I click on the market and it sends my captain over there. I cant seem to figure out how to actually trade or purchase anything...

on the left side of screen will be a market menu that you can click '+' or '-' signs for food, rum, powder

Not for me. I just get a market icon with a green line spinning around it on the right side of the screen. This is during the tutorial...

Omg... I found it out..
You just need to press on the two arrows in the tutorial screen (bottom right on the text box) so the tutorial slides left. The market is behind it!
