Player Habitat station
I see that I can build habitat stations, but their description doesn't tell me their purpose.

What is the benefit of having your own habitat station?

Habitats act as resource sinks. People buy consumer resources at habitats.

You mean player owned habitats do not "buy"resources from player account, but people live on these stations will buy the resources from you?
Stranger 26 Nov, 2017 @ 1:10pm
Exactly, yes.

Neat - I was afraid that player couldn't be self sufficient, because he need money from other factions. However with these habitats I can earn money without the need for other factions :)

I build habitat station, filled it with resources, but they are not consumed.

What is wrong?

Does it has to do something with sector population (only 20 people are living in my sector)?
Is it possible to increase sector population?

Also I assume that when the resources are consumed by habitat station it will produce money for owner, right?

This entire habitat station purpose is really vaguely described in the game :(

Population will come gradually depending on other stations here, yes. You'll get money for resources sold to the people - the more people, the more resources are consumed.

We'll try providing more information on this.

Ok I'm a bit confused:
- when I sell resources to NPC Habitats it seem the payment is from faction fund (e.g. I cannot sell to factions who gone bankrupt)
- when I give resources to my habitat there is no payment, only resource transfer.

So the money is earned on resource sold or resource consumption for Player?
Does it also work for NPC factions? e.g. if their stations consume resources will they get money?

If you put resources at your own habitat, resources will slowly be consumed there against money. It doesn't happen right away, but over time.

Ok, my habitat started to consume resources after population increased (from initial 20 to 6,5k - nice population boom). However it would be nice to see some kind of information about consumption speed and how much profit the station genarate to me. As it is now this habitat station system is very vaguely described.

1) Also about population jump to 6,5k (there in one habitat owned by me and one owned by NPC) - is there some kind of limit how many people one habitat can hold?

2) What does habitat upgrade ment to do, other than increase storage limit? Does it incease consumption speed?

3) It would be nice to add later more buildable habitat types like te ones I put in other topic (Stanford Torus, O'neal cilinder).

Wait.

I own a Habitat.

I can only Transfer, and not Sell to it.

Therefore, the profitability comes from the fact that those people, over time, will consume the resources Transferred to their Habitat?

How much profit are we talking about?

They should buy resources at their buying price in the sector, unless I'm mistaken.
