Are they changing the core aspect of arena shooters?
Hero mechanics that lock Weapons, Abilities, and Passives to a character? This is an arena shooter not a MOBA. Weapons should be pickups around the map not locked behind a Hero system. Abilities should be scrapped and/or replaced as equipment for everyone. Passives should be scrapped and/or have the same added to everyone. Arena shooters are about skill in gunplay and movement. Locking Weapons, Abilities, and Passives is unbalanced and does not promote teamwork.

you never said why anything should be, you just have an idea of an arena shooter which requires literally the exact same resource mechanics as quake, the devs clearly disagree and so did the 50k people who left after a month,

Locking Weapons, Abilities, and Passives is unbalanced and does not promote teamwork." literally all shooter games are about gunplay and movement, doesnt mean anything, " Locking Weapons, Abilities, and Passives is unbalanced and does not promote teamwork." why is it unbalanced? just make the classes equal but different, one person can have an advantage at X range while you do at Z range, just play around it, this implies its physically impossible for any of these games to be balanced, (battlefied, titanfall 1 and 2, COD, apex, ow2, marvel rivals, halo 4, the finals,) and it obviously promotes teamwork i dont know how you can have that take you need 1 of each class to have all the passives which promotes picking one of each to help you team i dont understand that
are there no weapon pickups now? i'm trying to figure it out and apparently we get a loadout system like Reach but the equipment changes the skin, but i definitely saw weapon drops on the videos i've watched
