Is there a way to skip previously read text?

I tried a few of the hotkeys that usually work and didn't have any luck.

The key above Tab on the left of the keyboard, just before the 1 button. It's the ¬ for me though I believe it's where the tilde key is located on some keyboards?

Skips all text read or not, at least for me, but it does come in handy when replaying.

the tile key doesn't work for me, which makes replaying this game really frustrating. How hard is it to build in a decent skip text function for a text-based game? FFS
