We have an update for you today with a large number of minor fixes and two big ones: improved matchmaking and bots on TacOps maps. Additionally, many maps have undergone another round of optimization.

Full list of changes below:

-       New daily challenges have been added, optimized for new players.

-       The rewards for some of the more difficult challenges have been increased.

-       Updated the tracking of daily challenges and fixed bugs in the counting process.

-       Memory consumption was reduced.

-       Improved FPS stability.

-        All maps: general performance optimization. 

-        All maps: lighting optimization. Shadows should look better now.

-        All maps: broken respawn points were fixed.

-        Bots were added to the following TacOps maps: Moscow, Berlin, Warsaw, Polar, DMZ, and Tokyo.

-        Bots now have more varied weapon loadouts.

-        Fixed respawn and interaction issues.

-         A bug that prevented players from being properly matched together has been fixed.

-         Fixed visual bugs in 3440×1440 resolution.

-         Fixed sights and other visual artifacts on vehicles.

-         Istanbul map is back to rotation. 

-         Translations of the new challenges have been added and adjusted. 

-         Fixed Label.undefined bug.

-         Fixed client crashes on Windows 11.

-         Updated Quick Play logic: removed Stronghold priority for experienced players (several matches or more).

-         Removed incorrect object collisions.

-         The display of the number of players in matches has been fixed.

This week, in our Boot Camp series, we will give you guidance on how to counter aerial drones. This will cover all types of drones, from combat-focused helicopter drones to jammers and UAVs.

To combat aerial drones, you are given a few tools. The most reliable and universal one, the PPZR Piorun anti-air launcher, the Warmate drone, UCAS-D global jammer, and vehicles both dedicated to anti-air, and those that are not quite. And let’s not forget, your weapons can do damage too. Let’s take a look at all of these in closer detail.

The Piorun AA launcher can lock onto enemy drones from a distance. It can destroy UAVs, jammers, and offensive drones in one hit. The Piorun is an essential weapon against the Imugi and Gargoyle helicopter drones, both of which require 2 hits to destroy. The usage is simple; track the target for under 2 seconds, and use LMB to launch when you hear constant beeping and the light has turned green. An extra advantage of the Piorun is that it highlights objects it can lock onto when aiming.

The Warmate lives up to its name by being one of our best friends for fighting helicopter drones, as well as ground vehicles. This should be used together with the Piorun, as one Warmate is not enough to destroy a helicopter drone. If, after using the Piorun, the helicopter drone escapes your vision, you can call the Warmate to track it down and finish it, or the other way around. Be careful, however, as Imugi pilots can outrun the Warmate. You can use SHIFT for a speed boost, and make sure to intercept it, not follow it.

This jammer scrambles the controls of the helicopter drone and disconnects the pilot. It also hides your team from enemy UAVs. Combining a Piorun or Warmate with this can result in the helicopter drone crashing until it is destroyed, or becoming easier to hit, but it is possible for pilots close to base and clear of obstacles to inch their helicopter drone to safety, so the use of this should be considered carefully.

Ground vehicles are fantastic at taking out enemy helicopter drones. The Type X and Leopard MBTs have SPAAG turrets available, which have a high damage output against all aerial drones. These have plenty of ammunition and a fast rate of fire, allowing for a very forgiving tracking of enemy drones. But they are very vulnerable to other ground vehicles, and can be blinded by an Imugi. Using an MBT with a 120mm cannon and firing a well-aimed shot against a helicopter drone can sometimes be less risky, unless the target is missed. Equipping a hardkill APS will protect you from the Gargoyle’s AT rockets.

Launchers such as RPG or PF3 can deal heavy damage to the Imugi and Gargoyle, but will require a very well-aimed shot. PF3 can one-shot an Imugi, and be near-fatal for the Gargoyle. 

Firearms, typically caliber 5.56 or above, can inflict damage to enemy drones. Larger calibers will deal more damage, but 5.56 is enough to deal with Reaper jammers, Flying Eye UAVs, and even offensive drones. While it is possible to destroy the Barracuda with firearms, it’s difficult to do, so the Piorun is most recommended here.

Killing the enemy drone operator will also destroy the drone, but in most cases, they will hide themselves at base to make this impossible.
The most important aspect for taking down the enemy drones is teamwork. Two people focusing on it with a Piorun or Warmate are your best chances at taking it down.

This week, in our Boot Camp series, we will offer tips on defeating armored vehicles.

In World War 3, there are many ways to destroy vehicles. You can choose from gadgets, weapons, or strikes.

We'll cover all of these, as well as potential counters that vehicles may have, so you can choose the best approach.

There are other ways you can help your team besides dealing damage. You can also use firearms to destroy vehicle optics and take out their Remote Control Weapons, or Active Protection Systems to distract the vehicle. You can mark a tank by tapping X once, or mark its general location by tapping X twice. This lets your team know where to look for it.

Gadgets are a cheap way to deal with vehicles. They do not increase the weight of the loadout or cost score. They are convenient tools for when you find yourself near a vehicle. The anti-tank mine can be placed as a trap, the anti-tank grenade is a simple way to deal a modest amount of damage, and effective C4 placement will terrorize tanks.

You can use the YTG, RPG, or PF3 to take down vehicles from a distance as infantry. In this order, they progressively deal more damage, but they come with extra disadvantages such as bigger weight, reload time, travel time, or projectile drop-off. Remember to hit vehicles in the rear for maximum damage.

Strikes are by far the most diverse way to fight armored vehicles in WW3. You can choose drones, guided missiles, bombing runs, or artillery. The Stormbreaker missile deals great damage, the Warmate is a cheap way to deal decent damage and also blind a tank. Anti-tank artillery concentrates lots of artillery shells in a small area very quickly. Bombing runs can punish immobile tanks with instant death for any tank caught in the drop zone. RAK artillery can deliver devastating blows to enemy vehicles.

Naturally, such a wide range of vehicle destruction tools means the vehicles need protection. Apart from armor, they have an APS that will protect a tank from a range of threats. They can only equip one at a time, letting you know what they’re vulnerable to. RCIED APS nullifies remote detonations, such as the warmate, anti-tank mines, and C4. Radar APS will hide a vehicle’s heat signature, hide it from being marked on the map, and redirect guided missiles. Hardkill APS will destroy projectiles such as the RPG and PF3.

Vehicles are not meant to be solo’d, but with proficiency, you will come very close. But an important aspect of destroying tanks is teamwork. Team up with a friend, a squadmate, or teammate, to use a combination of strikes, gadgets, and weapons to take down a tank, and it will be as easy as ABC.

This week, in our Boot Camp series, we will give you guidance on how to play with vehicles, and everything about them.

First, let’s take a look at how to customize your vehicles. In WW3, you can customize your vehicle with hull armor, different turrets or turret armor, a Remote Controlled Weapon Station (RCWS), an Active Protection System (APS), and thermal optics. However, you can only equip 3 of these at once, so make sure to choose a combination that works together. On top of these choices, you can change the type of ammunition your tank and RCWS use, and also change the camouflage of your vehicle.

There are many threats to vehicles in WW3. To name a few, there are rocket launchers, C4, anti-tank mines, various drone types, bombing runs, artillery, missiles, other vehicles, anti-tank grenades, and so on. However, don’t be overwhelmed. While there are so many different ways for the enemy to attack you, you can equip an APS to protect you, mostly as a hard counter. An RCIED Jammer will protect you from drones and other remote detonations, like C4. The Radio APS will protect you from being seen in thermals, marked on the map, and will also redirect guided missiles launched against you. Hardkill APS will be able to take down enemy projectiles such as the RPG, Panzerfaust, or Yatagan rockets.

Additionally, there are 3 sets of armors to equip. One will reduce damage from infantry weapons such as the RPG, one will reduce damage from enemy vehicle rounds, and the last one will give you protection from both, however, the protection will be slightly less than the dedicated options.

You can choose from IFVs, AFVs, Tank Destroyers, and MBTs. Each category, in this order, increases the armor, caliber of the gun, and the cost of using the vehicle in a match. Additionally, it reduces speed. While playing an IFV, consider moving around constantly, stopping only to support an objective capture. While playing an MBT, consider some careful encouragement for your team to move on and capture objectives. 

The first step to learning vehicle gameplay is to learn your weaknesses. All vehicles have 3 hitboxes. One in the front, one in the middle, and one in the rear. The front one is always the strongest, and the rear is the weakest. Receiving hits on the rear will cause far more damage than the front, so make sure you don’t let people flank you. It’s important to note that the angle of impact does not matter here, so avoid showing your sides in a face-to-face engagement.

While the driver controls the tank, the first passenger will control the RCWS. It’s an easy job; sit, relax, and click on the enemies. In this position, you can equip a purely anti-personnel weapon such as the 12.7mm HMG, or an anti-tank weapon, such as the AT RCWS, which fires missiles at enemy vehicles. This is a supplement to the tank’s main fighting capability, so when building your tank, consider which gap you want your RCWS gunner to fill.

Your vehicle gameplay is going to depend heavily on what kind of enemies you face, and how you prepare. A tank without protection from infantry weapons can easily be swarmed by a dedicated anti-tank team. But a tank without protection from other tanks might find it hard to endure a tank battle. But most importantly, a vehicle with good infantry support will survive much longer than a vehicle without. Know your enemy, and know your friends, as this will help you make better decisions.

Make sure to help your team capture objectives, eliminate enemy tanks, and stay active in the battle. Sitting close to safe spaces such as the base or corners of the map may seem beneficial to you, but it’s the best thing for the team to have a tank supporting their attacks and their defenses. While playing as infantry, it’s important to support your vehicles, and when they request repairs, make sure they receive them.

Your survivability is important, however. If you ever find yourself in a pickle, you can use the ‘G’ key to deploy smoke cover in front of your vehicle. If you pair this with thermal sights, you can use it to see people through the smoke, concealing your position, but revealing your enemies. To repair and rearm your tank, you can return to your base and drive onto the repair pad. Your vehicle will be progressively repaired and rearmed.

-          The difficulty of some daily challenges was reduced by 30%, and the rewards were increased to 1,000 XP.

-          The previously removed challenges have returned to the Shibuya map.

-          Updated the tracking of daily challenges and fixed bugs in the counting process.

-         Ruins of Gobi: lighting optimization (Part 2), improved bot logic, optimized visual effects.

-         Berlin: Improved navigation mesh, improved collision models, removed gaps between textures.

-         Moscow / Polarny / Tokyo / Smolensk: lighting optimization (another iteration), optimization of  visible geometry.

-          New players are now playing their first 5 matches on the Ruins of the Gobi map with bots.

-          Adjusted the bot respawn system based on the level of the current match.

-          Fixed behavior when new players are connected.

-          Added the ability for bots to switch between primary and secondary weapons.

-         Problems with connecting to Stronghold mode matches and the DMZ map have been localized and fixed.

-         Backend and log elements have been added to allow us to better understand and more quickly locate connection problems.

-          Another phase of optimization on the maps: Moscow, Polarnyi, Tokyo, Smolensk.

User Interface:

-          Fixed issues with displaying the progress, icons, and previews of various elements.

-          Translations of the daily challenges and the new interface elements have been added.

This week, in our Boot Camp series, we will explore everything related to operator customization. We will explain how it works and how to unlock it.

Now, let's take a look at how to customize your operator. The process is simple, but we'll walk you through it.

Remember, when customizing your operator, the hitbox remains the same. Thinner operators have no advantages in this regard, and bigger clothing does not slow you down. The helmet shape and size does not matter, the helmet hitbox covers your entire head. As long as you have headgear equipped, your loadout’s armor will protect you. So with this in mind, be free and go wild!

In WW3, you customize several aspects of your operators. 

• Head

• Headgear

• Facewear

• Facepaint

• Chest

• Pants

• Gloves

• Bodypaint

• Arm Patch

• Flag Patch

• Sentence Patch

• Voiceover

• Camouflage for clothing

To start with, you have 3 loadouts. Each of these carries a different set of customization items, which you can mix in any given character slot. However this will be a little limited, so let’s look at how to unlock new items.

First, you can obtain some free items via achievements. Upon obtaining 500 kills in Moscow, Berlin, or Warsaw in Tac Ops, you will obtain an operator blueprint, one for each map where you achieved 500 kills. You can find these achievements in Career -> Achievements -> Events -> Local Advancements. In addition to this free option, there are occasional silver currency blueprints being added to the shop. You can obtain this currency by doing weekly challenges or completing achievements. Secondly, you can obtain operator blueprints from the in-game or launcher shops. And of course, by purchasing the Battle Pass and completing the necessary tiers, you will unlock even more operator customization via blueprints.

Once you get an operator blueprint, it will become available to use from your list of operators. But more importantly, each item that’s included in the operator blueprint can now be used to create your own new one. You’ll be able to use all of the components that the operator came with, i.e. the helmet, the arm patch, the voiceover, the pants, etc. Obtaining a certain camouflage for a certain piece of clothing will let you color that piece of clothing with that camouflage. In essence, each operator is an expansion to your catalog of customization.
