Our new game Winds & Leaves that first released on PS VR this summer will be coming to Steam in about a month!

For those who don't know a thing about it, it's an exploration game where you can grow your own forests from scratch.

You can freely walk around the open world and discover landmarks to unlock new kinds of trees. As the only being able to survive in this barren landscape, you are bound to your forests so you'll lose vitality when venturing too far. Unearth ancient seeds to traverse new terrains you encounter.

This will change from being inside a prison cell, but the escape will be well worth it!

Hi everyone!

We are making a small update to Prison Boss VR this week-end. The update should be live this Sunday, but you can access it right now if you go and select the Beta build in the Steam options of the game. Here is what this update fixes:

• Use of SteamVR for all headsets: this means you can now play Prison Boss VR on Oculus Quest using Virtual Desktop! But also any other streaming or chat app that interacts with the SteamVR compositor will now work correctly! Furthermore, this means that if you don't like the way the buttons are setup, you will now be able to reconfigure the controller buttons using the SteamVR interface!
  
  
• You can now play Prison Boss VR while Steam is in offline mode: you will still need to play Prison Boss VR with Steam in online mode at least once per 30 days, but the rest of the time, you can play with Steam in offline mode!
  
  
• You can't move furniture at night anymore: a long time annoyance finally removed from the game!
  
  
• Better support for aggressive antivirus: we've had issues with some antivirus that impose very strict security rules, so we changed the location of saved games from the '.../Documents/My Games' folder to the '.../AppData/Roaming/ folder to avoid the extra security imposed on the documents folder. If you previously had issues with Prison Boss VR while your antivirus was running, and so had to mess with antivirus rules or turn it off, now you'll only have to play the game once like before and your save files will be transfered to that new folder. Afterwards you'll be able to play without avoir any security measures!
  
  
• We now use Unity Analytics to gather information: we used to use a different provider but moved to Unity now, this means that if you want to change if you share or not info with us, here is what you need to do: you go in the in-game options menu and click the analytics button, you'll be directed towards a web page that allows you to choose if you share or not data with us to improve support for the game.

Hey Prison Bosses!

Been a long time. We are proud to announce today our biggest update to Prison Boss VR, the Boss mode update, out now! This update took more time than expected to get out as we ported the game to PlayStation VR at the same time, which will also be out today in Americas and tomorrow in Europe.

We’ve been working hard to offer you this new update, adding a brand new way to play the game!

If you read the forums, when we’re active (yes it happens sometimes… :) ), we’ve been talking about a sandbox mode. After months of designing, implementing and testing this new mode, we decided to give it a more unique name, thus the Boss mode.

Boss mode lets you decide your own strategy by giving you skill cards which you can use to unlock the items you desire. The goal is to make the highest score you can before the end of the serving time you go for. You can play for 20, 30 or 40 days in any of the 4 prisons. You can then continue your game if you wish but the score will be calculated at the end of the duration you chose.

This is one big new feature, especially for people who had not enough room to use room scale: You can now play seated with the new “distance interactions”. You can now “distance grab”, “distance drop” and rotate 90 degrees with a dedicated input.

To make the Story mode more replayable, we added a medals system which lets you replay the prisons to perfect your score. The score is based on the total value of items sold, the number of jobs completed and the number of times you got caught by the guards during the playthrough. You then get a final medal related to your score! Go get those gold medals!

Along with this, we fixed lots of performance and gameplay issues. We did lots of optimization, drastically reducing loading times and greatly improving overall framerate. You can read the full patch notes below.

Some new achievements have been added to offer some challenges related to the new mode and the medal system!

We hope you are having a great time managing the supply of cake and teddy bears within the prison walls. We are taking this time to update you all about the developments at TREBUCHET and the future plans for Prison Boss.


First of all, we are very proud to announce today TREBUCHET’s second VR game in the works: Jousting Time! We launched a Kickstarter campaign just now about this new exciting project that we have been working on since the end of 2017. Jousting Time was first created during a game jam in November and we decided to push this concept further with a unique way for VR players and non-VR players to interact. The game recently won the “Mixed Reality” award from Microsoft’s Dream.Build.Play contest in March. Yaaaayyy! We were finalist with two other great VR games, Windlands and Racket: NX, so we were very proud of this unexpected recognition.

Since the launch, we did a lot of work on Prison Boss. The game was well polished with the Fall patches that enhanced the progression and added some furniture. We also worked on adding Windows MR and Oculus Rift Support and integrated language features allowing us to translate the game in French and Simplified Chinese.

For the future of the game, we are looking into making a Playstation VR port. This port would allow us to add a simplified locomotion system to the Steam version of the game. We want players to be able to make the game work on Standing Mode instead of Roomscale only.

We are also working on doing a Prison Boss VR content patch for this summer. (Hopefully for the one year anniversary date of the game on August 29th.) We do not want to say much about this since nothing is final, but we want to increase the replayability of the game by adding a new game mode and online high score systems.

As a side note - Languages -

We are wondering which languages would be interesting and valuable for our player base? If you guys are really hoping for your native language to be added to the game, manifest your interest! If we have volunteers to translate the texts from the game we can do more language integrations that the ones we currently have!
