Hi, just tested last patch.

I'm happy because you've removed the turn animation in the lock back button. Now is fast and usable. Great!

About the new drift system:

Before, the normal turn was useless for 100% of the turns. So you were bound to drift in every turn.

After last patch, normal turn works for EVERY turn. And this is so much. I mean, is ok that some tight curves force you to drift. In my opinion, you have to reduce the angle of rotation of normal turns. Before was too low, now is too high.

Drift works more or less ok, but I think the angle of correction in the opposite direction of the drift is not enough. I mean, in the first race, there is a turn in a suspension bridge that visually looks like the perfect place to drift. The problem is even with counter correction you turn too much and you get out of the curve but for the interior side.

About the sounds, the Kill Bill sound is too high. The music, especially the jungle track, is terrible. I have to mute sound when this music plays. The effect for landing after big jumps is sterile. In the drift, I think you have to remove the smoke icon in the bottom of the screen and use only the animation/effects/colors of the car to point the strenght of the turbo. The smoke effects in the long drift is not toon enough. I think will be better something like Mario 3D World smoke. Toon and with shadows.

Hello, Very happy you like the new system of drift :steamhappy:
Maybe we try to take the much feedback we can to fix also other things to tuning the system.
For Music we need to take time to fix all the level.
Foa animation of the boost on the UI we need to show, for who don't understand the system.
Also thanks

Reading Maldo's post, i think i can agree even if i never tried the old system. Normal turning seems to work everywhere and with drift having the bad habit of dragging you to the interior side, you think to use it only when you want to look cool while turning. :P

Mario Kart doesn't need a reminder in the UI for that. Sonic and All-Star racing doesn't need a reminder in the UI for that. Why do you think you need it? Is not necessary and works better without it.

Hi there, I bought the game about a week ago after seeing how much you are updating it and are engaged with the community...

My opinion on the drifting is that you are getting close but not quite there yet. First thing I would say is the transition when you go into a drift is a little stiff. The car just turns abruptly at a very linear angle. I would try to smooth that out a little bit so it looks a little more fluid and natural.

Also once you are drifting I think you need to give more control to the player to be able to steer in the drift. If you look at the drifting in SART that's what you should strive for. I know you don't want to copy another games mechanics but if it ain't broke don't fix it...

The regular steering when you are not drifting feels great to me by the way, I would not change that at all.

Thanks and cant wait to see online!

Hi @Maldo, maybe we can give this assist to turn on or off into the option? What do you think?
:)

Hi @ShaolinMonk Thanks for all feedback and for support our work on community and on the game.
Yes Maybe next release, we try to weak a little bit the drifting again.
And Yes Online Mode is near, and, who is the All-Star Fruit Racing king !?!?!?!?!?!

We hope you all :steammocking::steamhappy:

I've only tried the game a couple times. I'm not trying to be mean, but the game's physics are just awful. The carts don't feel like they have any weight or momentum. It's not a matter of a little tweaking. You need to go back to the drawing board on the racing physics, maybe confer with someone who's worked on racing games before to get some advice. You guys obviously put a lot of love into this game and it has a ton of potential. But just doesn't feel good to play at all.

Hi @ JINX thanks for your feedback.
The problems is the staff come from veterans dev from racing game from 2 wheels to 4 wheels.ouch! We had worked all the time work with simulation racing games and not to arcade games.
Arcade games is very difficult to understand what player loves. Someone is happy, other not.
We try always to find the right middle line to help our customer to love our games.
we collect always all the feedback to improve our games, because our community is very important.
Thanks and we hope to give to you right feels ;) in the futures

I guess that it's very personal. I personally love the drift system. Even countersteering works great. The collision physics can use some work tho. It would be nice to get more bump response so you can bump your opponents or AI against rocks or out of the track and to get a more realistic response when you bump against the side of the track.

+ I've found another bug: I've experienced several times that the shield doesn't do its job.

Actually the carts feel lighter like motorcycles or something so maybe that's where that comes from? I doesn't feel like a simulation at all, though, as the physics are almost non-existent. And again, the carts don't behave as if they have any weight, which creates a mental disconnect for a player.

Yes, but you're making an arcade racing game, not a simulator. Nobody is going to buy this game expecting anything other than and arcade, Mario Kart style feel.

Sorry for sounding so negative, I feel like you guys have a game here with great potential but this is really killing it for me. Thanks for taking my feedback with such a positive attitude :ss13ok:

@Jinx

Off Course, we try to do our Best , for all the players. Is a classic answer, but we try really to listen all feedback. Someone said the games is too difficult, other too easy is a very customer war :steammocking:

@Herby

Thanks for feedback, the problem is : IF you are drifting the shield, dosen't works right sometimes. Also the visual had some little lag, than the skill effetct. So they not mix really togheter.
We are working on it.

Hi Herby! Are you talking about the 1-tank-shield or all the shields in the game? In the first case we know it's broken online and sometimes doesn't work while drifting, like explained above. We are working on it! :)
Herby 4 Jan, 2018 @ 3:26pm
Yes, with the 1-tank-shield, but while I was playing offline (split-screen).
I haven't been able to play the game online because most of my friends only play console games.
I only have 1 Steam friend left, but he doesn't own the game ... yet.
Thanks for your hard work on this game! :)

I know that is a bit off topic but I think that would be great if there were the possibility of customize the controls (both keyboard and gamepad) and maybe save them as control profiles (like in super smash bros).
That could satisfy every player
