FPS dropping and lagging

Hi, I'm not a buyer of steam version of game, but have old CD.
There's no communities to ask help for this old game's problem so I ask here.
I'm having a high FPS dropping when I get close to urban areas which have many buildings and people, cars. At forest and edge of the maps, it gets faster. I even cannot click properly in urban areas because of this. It makes cursor double click the buttons.

I think WN10 is the problem maybe, but are there any way to run this game normally without virtual windows?

have yyou tried the app "DxWnd"?
i have the original version from jowood 1.4 (computer bild spiele cd) and to run this game i had to download the dxWnd programm. then drag and drop the vgigant.exe in the app window and try the try button if it runs it should run in a window. but beware there is a 100million firm funding bug, if you have 100million the game crashes without a error window.
