Where has Fancy Pants Man been!??

A question we've been hearing a lot of lately...

As we shared a year ago, Brad cracked Super FPA back open in order to optimize and improve the game. The hope was to clean the game up, improve stability on modern machines, and bring over some enhancements created for the Classic Pack. This ended up being a MUCH more challenging process than anticipated.

In hindsight it may not have been the right time, as attempting to take this on created a massive development bottleneck for both titles. What was meant to be some casual bugfixing and optimizing quickly turned up a litany of other issues.

Fixing one thing in Super inevitable broke two others. This quickly spun out of control, and meant needing to pour over every line of old code - all of which Brad has improved upon tenfold in the years since! Attempting to untangle that off the back of a hectic launch for Classic Pack led to developmental brickwall on both projects.

Brad had to instead commit himself to learning Computer vision in Python in order to improve his technical abilities. This should significantly improve the process of debugging / repeated testing / uploading builds. Not very exciting stuff to provide updates on, while also largely not really being progress you can show.

TL;DR

Brad is working on massive technical improvements for Super Fancy Pants Adventures.
Currently this is limited to a Pantreon[www.patreon.com]-only beta branch.
When this update is completed it will be applied to the game entirely for free.
At that time, we'll be ready to move back to the Classic Pack and the future of all things Fancy Pants!

How to start local co-op

Hi Anyone know how to start a local co-op? I have the game on two computers on two steam accounts, but I cant figure out how my son and I can play a co-op together. Hope someone can help. Best Mikkel

Please report any bugs you find here! This is LONG overdue, but I wanted to add a bug reporting thread to this Steam page. I'm putting some time into locking old threads, and generally cleaning things up around here. But I know there are still long lingering bugs. So to help Brad up, I'd like to do my best to round old bugs up, and direct anything reported in the future to here instead. White Loading Screen. Game Won't Start!! HELP!!!!

I recieved the game as a gift from my friend and i downloaded it as normal and all it does is show the logo of the game, white screen and then goes into full screen mode with "connecting..." in the lower right hand corner and nothing works. i've tried uninstalling the game and verifying the intergrity of the game files and nothings working. everything is up to date so no updates to fix patches and bugs....

disappointed

I now hav more then 3 hours and are very disappointed of the game. it started fine but now in the vulcanos levels, I dont know why, the buttons of my controller dont react ingame. every other game is fine, sometimes I cant shot, sometimes I cant dash...I would love to refund now but cant. In addition to that the game crashes. 3 times in the last hour. I use a xbox360 controller. if anyone even care at this point...

Wanted to play this game hoping it would be fun like the old games but the game... just isn't polished like the previous ones were. While momentum and combat is decent, I could tell a LOT of the platforming design wasn't great from the start of the game. Slides wouldn't line up or feel satisfying sometimes like they should. Which Fancy Pants really hinges on. The bonus levels are more frustrating than they are fun. Getting hats also didn't feel good as I would rather have Fancy Pants keep his iconic hair. Another thing is you don't collect the "snail shells" as I call them and they only exist as to give you health and lives in this game. Which makes them not worth collecting. Not surprising since this game is more of a linear point A to point B game rather than a world to collect things in aside from the hats/colors.

The overall game does also lack some good art, which I didn't expect SUPER detailed art going into it to be fair. As it is Fancy Pants. Even then, I feel like this is an indie game that looks like it came out 15 years ago rather than 8 years ago. There are also humans which are a bit jarring with the stickman figures. I did check out the abilities but they're mostly basic stuff. Felt it took too long to get to that point (Bathtub city) and even the get the pen ability. I will say, one thing the game does great is the new pen mechanic for traveling. HOWEVER, what it gets wrong is the gun as for some reason, you're stuck in one place while you shoot it and it's clunky to move with. I don't know if it's bugged but you can only get out of the shooting pose by holding R button then jumping away from the inking gusher. I don't even know how to do it with keyboard nor bother with it.

My game also crashed once and it seems many others had that issue. Doesn't really feel like the polish for the game is there which saddens me a bit but maybe there can be another game like this that does the mechanics really good.
