Grab the hammer and start looking at buildings in a different way. Time to de-stress after a long day.

Red Faction Guerrila was a simple game with a simple story but a enjoyable one with a couple of things that could have some better design choices. Right from the the start you know what to expect in the game. You know what areas there is to explore and what to do to restore them to what they were before thing gone bad. The EDF is here and they are not welcome, the barricades, the defenses, the turrents, all most be gone and lucky for you, you will have a great arsenal to make things easier. There are 6 areas for you to focus in the main story and plenty of side activities to keep you busy but not enough for you to get burn out doing them all. I finished around 30 activities and after that I felt I've seen everything there was to see and the remaining would be more copy and paste without anything new so I stopped doing them and went back to the main story.

Performance wise I only got a crash to the desktop and it was during the DLC main mission. Aside of that, when exiting the game I got a black screen a couple of times, nothing serious. Pushing the FOV to the max makes the game feels so much better, I highly recommend it. Gameplay wise it's a solid game but could have better mechanics. The cars feel a little too stiff when cornering and wobbly on the desert segments. Guns are more than enough and it does not get old destrying everything. Be cautious of how you use them because the AI allies tend to be a little too close for you and sometimes when swinging the hammer the worst can happen. It wouldn't be too bad if you didn't get a morale penalty when your allies die. Speaking of dying, you also get lower morale when you die so if you are dying too much just drop the difficulty down and you'll be good to go. The music feels good and gave me some Mad Max vibes. The world does not offer much variety and cut-scenes could be better looking but it's normal considering the initial release of the game.

12 hours after, I finished the main game with some side activities. The DLC is well worth your time and it's a quick one with around 2 more hours from start to finish. I got all the activities and main missions as well destroying everything in the DLC in two gaming sessions.
