Set in the 1960s, you play as William Carter, a FBI agent with a dark past, a sharp suit, and a hat so sturdy it could stop alien plasma. The narrative is a mix of Cold War paranoia and alien conspiracies.

The tactical shooting system tries to combine XCOM strategy with third-person action, and it… kind of works? You pause time to command your squadmates to take cover, flank enemies, or do fancy alien-killing maneuvers. Unfortunately, your AI teammates occasionally behave like they've been bribed by the aliens, running into danger or ignoring your orders entirely.

The 1960s setting is the game’s biggest win. From the vintage office decor to the Cold War aesthetic, the world feels like it could host a spy thriller… if only the aliens weren’t hogging the spotlight. And let’s not forget Carter’s trusty fedora, which somehow survives every battle unscathed.

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is a bold experiment in blending tactics, action, and retro sci-fi charm. While it doesn’t always stick the landing, it’s hard not to appreciate its ambition. If you can tolerate some clunky AI, it’s a fun, stylish romp through an alien invasion.

For anyone wondering, this game still works on a modern PC.

The game is pretty fantastic, if you like Men In Black, games set in old fashioned times. Excellent world building and story.
Don't compare it to XCOM, it's not even the same game type.

EDIT: I lied, it can still crash a fair amount for an old game. But at least it runs. It's a valuable game to experience though

It is a mass effect clone. You play as a terminally depressed man that has alien powers. You have a team of mooks at your disposal that need to be ordered around or they will get firing squadded. Your hat can fall off and can be lost forever. Sick game.
