Will Episode 1 and 2 be playable in VR?
Eventually yes. Right now, we are concentrating on the base game and are working hard to make it fully playable and get an initial public release out of the door. Once that’s happened and the first inevitable influx of bug reports have been processed, we will slowly move our attention to the episodes and bring them to VR.
Pavlov VR pulls it off pretty well, in that there's a magazine pouch model, and that you use the trigger to grab them; So there's really no reason not to take inspiration from it.
Trigger is bound to "Use" and would be just as ambiguous in this mod, not to mention go against the overall control scheme. There are always compromises needed to be made; in this instance we just feel the shoulder grab is a better fit.
Eventually, we intend to release the source code, so if it's important enough for you or someone else, you can attempt to mod this in yourself :)
Could you guys take inspiration from the following HL2 mod, "Collection of patches" ? aka by looking, not copying, then adding your own lines of code that fix the exact listed issues.

Or even better, if you could collaborate with its author in order to directly implement the fixes he made for HL2 and its episodes.

Hello! We're working on an upgraded content branch for the game. This will include higher resolution textures, map fixes, graphical updates, QOL changes, etc. Some of the items in that change log have already been fixed in the beta maps.
