Will this work with a non-steam version of Arma2 CO?

I bought Arma2 CO non-Steam version because I was told it worked better at the time for Dayz, if I buy this Chopper sim on Steam, will I still be able to use the mod to fly over Cherno? Are the two versions compatible? I use six launcher for Dayz by the way.

Sure it will, please see what the bi wiki said:
Loading from Registry

If you do not use the -mod parameter, Take On Helicopters will load Rearmed automagically when it finds Arma 2 and / or Operation Arrowhead in the registry and everything is taken care off automatically.

You can disable / enable Rearmed in the Expansion menu from the main menu. It will deactivate / activate automatically the required dependencies to the other products.
