is surely absurd that players themselves but need to figure out how to play online.

the game maker of this game should just make an update so that players can play without programs of third line.
this is very cheap from the creators and very lazy.
buy nothing more of this lazy game builders

If you own operation arrowhead or combined operations then you should be able to refresh the server list and find online servers. They were moved to steam around the time gamespy was taken offline.
I use ingame browser, that works fine for me.
don't know what your on about...

Bohemia went out of their way to ensure an almost seamless changeover from GameSpy to Steam when GameSpy decided to drop their servers. A LOT of developers simply walked away from their legacy products and left players out in the cold. They didn't do this for the original ArmA 2 or previous versions, but ArmA 2 OA which can access all of the ArmA 2 content and DLC has been updated three times at least since this turn of events.

BI went out of there way to do this and they still get it in the neck from users who can't drive their own computers.

you can play and host fine without any third party software, "use hamachi" is usually the answer people give when they cant be bothered to set up portforwarding
