I think if the right VR trigger were the gas, the left the brake and the joysticks/thumbpads were used to steer and control rider position then it would be enough to get most VR players off the ground without having to do one-to-one hand control of the bike.
The title "V-Racer Hoverbike" has some good virtual motorcycle control and might be worth looking at for inspiration.
Keep up the great work!
They're the same ones who complain about all the "safe" games that require teleport.
I'm having trouble getting the leans mapped right, but otherwise love the game so far.
Its a mental leap, but so great.
Please, don't give up VR ! I bought this game because of that !
At the moment, I think that we need simple things to enjoy VR :
- The camera position must be "locked" on the horizon and not following the head pilot movements (that's what causes motion sickness)
- In first person view, you should make the body translucent, and/or maybe just make appear hands
- In third person view, make the camera more flexible and more "floating"
- Make a proper menu navigation with the controller
At this time, no need to leaning or simulate gaz control.
That's all, guys !
Is there any documentation online i missed on how to set up the vr?
Default is F8
If you have framerate problems in VR, you could try disabling 3D grass and lowering Antialiasing & Anisotropic textures
*disclaimer* I don't own the game yet so I'm unaware of the current Vr features
I plan on purchasing when I get paid
lol don't hurt me!
1. The option to use vr controllers as "Handlebars" where the triggers act as your front brake or combined brakes (right hand) and clutch (left hand). to steer, tilt the controllers as if you were holding handlebars. use the Vr wingsuit game "Rush" as inspiration for steering.
2. as for leaning, use head position. Ex: lean in real life and use the headsets position to determine which way to lean (Forward, back, left, right).
3. For throttle use the accelerometer data from the right hand controller to detect rotation (as if you were twisting a throttle!)
those are about all I could think of at the moment. I'm sure other people have made similar requests in the past, but I thought I would throw it out there. I also understand that Implementing this kind of thing would be difficult and hard to tune to feel "realistic".
I might make this its own post to see if anyone has any more input!
Thank you!
Really wanted to play this in VR! I'm on the demo currently but I couldn't imagine that this was an intentional nerf for the demo. Will be buying the game regardless but look forward to VR support with my upcoming Reverb G2 and my current headsets. Of note as well I have three other WMR headsets but I have not dug them out to try. I prefer my Acer due to the size and weight.
My PC has a Ryzen 5 3600 and a Vega 64.
Thanks!
Is there a setting that I need to apply?
Menus are working but when I click go to track it only starts loading and nothing happens.
Anyone else had this problem?
That's probably because teleport is crap...
