Two more sleeps until THQ Nordic's Digital Showcase! What time? You guessed it: Friday, August 2 at 12:00 PM PDT / 3:00 PM EDT / 8:00 PM BST / 9:00 PM CEST.

For those who haven't heard it yet (didn't you read our prior press releases? Rude!): THQ Nordic’s Digital Showcase is set to bring you an array of spectacular game updates, teasers and new announcements. A gem of a game. I have no idea how many times I have replayed these games - but all I know is that in 20 years time I'll still be coming back to them.
Would argue that this is one of the must plays for any action RPG fans.

Granted for anyone coming into the series - the control system is awful, and while it'll be painful at first after couple of hours you'll get used to it. So don't let something so silly controls turn you away from this classic from 2001.

Also for anyone using steam, I found the software called "Spine" to be extremely useful in getting the game to run smoothly & even got some mods that improved quality of textures.

One of the best RPGs

- It's regularly in sale and then you can get Gothic 1, 2 and 3 for 4€. Great deal.
- Don't buy the bundle including "Arcania". Just Gothic. Trust me

Story

It's a "from zero to hero" story. You start as a newly convicted criminal in a penal colony and work your way up in this tough environment. The game provides a immersive, dark and occult atmosphere. Generally, the story is really strong in the first half and a little drawn out in the second, but that's a minor issue. A must-play for genre-fans.

Gameplay

The unique, outdated controls are a common complaint from new players, but after some hours, you'll get used to them.
And may even enjoy them.

Mods

Over the years the community released a ton of Mods. From cosmetical to total-conversions, there is pretty much everything.

As someone who played it for the first time I have very mixed feelings about the game.
First off, it is immersive, it has a neat soundtrack and I see why it would be a cult classic, but that is where the good ends for me.
The slow backtracking drove me almost insane especially that one dumb Ulu-mulu or whatever the hell quest that was, where I had to travel to a spot, to travel back to a guy to then go backtrack all of the gameworld to kill some random mobs. The game does not respect my time, so why would I respects it?

Over all, it is worth playing I think, but definitely not worth finishing. After Act 1 the game lost a lot of its charm for me and kinda tended towards a downwards spiral. After the Orc Cementery quest I was forcing myself through the game, hoping it would get better but it never did. Oh also, combat is basically all about having your opponent get stunlocked before they land any hit on you most of the time, so there is that too.

If you like the game, more power to you, but for me it is definitely a miss with the previously mentioned issues I have with the game.

Не запускалась готика 1.2 НАКОНЕЦ Нашел решение.

При запуске игр у меня появлялось окошко и тут же все пропадало, нашел решение. Естественно сперва устанавливаем пак патчей. Открываем в директории \Gothic\system файл SystemPack.ini и меняем FixBink=1 на =0 У меня после этого стали запускаться обе части и
