Runtime Error 3502 Could not load music at line 2323
CTD and error report when starting in all three exe files. I tried moving the whole music directory to a temp folder, to see if that affects anything and it did.

I was able to start the game, get a new save game going but the performance seems to lag too badly. I remember the demo being smoother.

I tried moving all the music files back to their normal directory, and moved the first music file into the temp folder and starting it to see if I could track down the specific problem file. I did this for each file and no results, all resulted in the same 3502 crash.

I've also reinstalled audio drivers, verified files, uninstalled, reinstalled, ran compatibility modes, disabled audio devices and restarted after each attempt at fixing. No luck.

My Windows 7 boot does not produce the same error, instead it hangs on launch and is unable to continue without crashing.

Specs
Windows 10, recent install.
Nvidia Geforce 1060 6gb
I5 2500k 3.3ghz
installed on SSD on same directory as OS

The opening logo music is Victory.mp3. The menu music is Intro.mp3. Can you do me a favor and see if you can load a game without those two tracks?

I'm still running Windows 7 on my good computer, but I have a crappy Windows 10 laptop that I got for free that I'll try it out on now.

EDIT: The lines should be different, though, because the first one was the logo music. Can you also try reinstalling the game? If reinstallation doesn't work, I'll look at it on Wednesday evening.

I reinstalled the game, and moved the two files you specified. The game now boots past the intro, to the menu but crashes upon making a new game or loading one with Runtime Error 3502 Could not load music at line 932.

I tried the demo again, and it gives the same set of errors. I did play the demo a while back on my old computer so I'm thinking it might be an issue with my setup, not the game.

I'm pretty tired now, so I'll wait until tomorrow night to mess around with it more on something other than windows 10, or my computer specifically. Thanks for the fast response. :lunar2019piginablanket:

Thanks for the report. Yeah, line 932 is the loading music, so it's something wrong with the sound driver. But I need to make this compatible as hell. Just no time until Wednesday.

On a side note I would like to report a bugbut do not feel like opening a thread.

In chapter 3 upon meeting Tio outside of Pochutla, he tends to get stuck on the rocks in the terrain. It happened to me multiple times. Reloading sometimes fixes it but it can be a major issue because it prevents the quest from progressing.

He mostly just keeps walking in the rock formation.

Another bug I encountered was during the Eluggia quest where you have to kill Ricardo, upon looting the place I selected the worker clothes and I was wearing the thug disguise, I got the message that I already own the clothes. Later when I tried entering the password at the intercom, the game did not recognize the thug disguise despite me wearing it. I guess there is a conflict upon picking up clothing that you. It is super specific.

Oh OK, thanks. I noticed the Tio thing, but he always eventually figured it out. I'll put in more specific waypoints in the next patch.

Not sure about the outfit thing. Did you try picking up the new outfit and changing clothes, or did you use the outfit chest to change? You shouldn't even be able to pick up the worker clothes because you start with them. The worker clothes on the table are just aesthetic.

No luck tonight. Tried the game on my windows 7 boot again, was able to boot without hanging, got the same line 2323 error, went and removed the two mp3s, then got the line 932 error when loading a game.

When you mention sound driver, do you mean my computer's sound driver?

no, just one computer, two separate OS installs. If you're curious, im using Nvidia audio drivers, with headphones connected to my monitor, and my monitor is connected through HDMI. I also ahve an HTC Vive hooked up that takes over for audio when its on. Next time I get a chance I'll see if I can change up the audio setup.

What's strange is that my windows 7 boot has been the same since I played the demo months ago, and it ran perfectly fine. I'll try to see what major changes I've done to my computer since then.

Thanks for the support though, lol. It's cool that you actively post on the forums here. I'll ♥♥♥♥ around with it some more this weekend and I'll be sure to let you know what's causing all of it. I'll post it here of course.

From what little I enjoyed in the demo a while back, I really enjoyed it. It was exactly what I needed and I didn't even know. Hope you have plans to make more.

Update here lol. I'm able to play the game, and start it smoothly for now. Going on 10 minutes now. The way I usually solve problems or tech support, I start with the dumbest ideas, and narrow it down from there.

So I just googled the error code, found another steam game forum where one of it's users were experiencing a similar problem. I will post the link to the forum post at the bottom.

Anyway, they started discussing possible causes and solution until OP mentioned LAV splitter. I remember that being a codec I had a problem with a while back on my Windows 7 boot so I uninstalled it.

I figured it wouldn't hurt to install a codec I ahd problems with previously on a fresh install as I can always go back.

Installed LAV splitter, and no more errors. :lunar2019piginablanket:

The music shouldn't change during the defense. Maybe the time of day changed? I could check the format for the twilight or night music if you think that's the cause. Anyway, I will do some research today.
EDIT: Also, I'm pretty sure that Ultimate Space Commando game was made on DarkBASIC. If so, I'll check the DB forums in a bit.
