Yeah, it seems like they do it besides their studies or jobs, and irregularly during the year, either during weekends, or winter holidays. I hope Cyan would get a full time team of devs and buy the project from their hands to finish the job quicker, while letting them add the final touches after the game is released. i would actully prefur someone make a fully prerenered version of riven like the first

look at the graphics of riven ignoring the reslution. the graphics are actully still better then most gams today.

adding 3d movement and live rendering will mean that real riven will not look better then the orginal riven.
i want a new riven to be leaps and bounds ahead of games today like riven was when it came out.
if all the scens were prerendered bubles like myst 3 and 4 this could look fining amazing to would look like a real place. and if the videos of the actors were shot using a 360 camera in a green room the videos would over lay perfictly into the seen to look like they were realy there.

but instead we are going to get plasticy modles of charicters and scens that do not look any better but are in a higher reslution.

I completely agree. Next year is 20th anniversary of Riven. I hope Cyan does something.

Did you even read the posts here? Already bright up. Further as I said it may never come. Its been in production for ever and even they say they are years away from finishing.

There is actually an updated version of Riven available on IPad if you have one of those devices. Looks quite good and of course it's at a much higher resolution.

Still waiting for Starry Expanse. It reminds me of Black Mesa and "Titanic: Honor and Glory"; which only one has been completed within 10 years.
