If you have Sonic Studio & Sonic Radar installed (both of which is Asus products), try uninstalling them and try playing the game again.

I don't have either of those. Have never heard of them either.

Going to need more information in order to help pin point the issue. Are you using a headset? If so what kind. Is drivers up to date? What codec pack (if any) that you've installed?

A codec pack is basically taking codecs and combinding them so it makes it more universal. I usually use with SVP or CCCP.

You can use CPU-Z to get motherboard details. Also, are you using a headset as well? If so what kind, as much information as you can provide the better.

I did file searches for "codec". "svp" and "cccp" (who came up with that? XD) and got no hits. If I had to personally find one of these codec things (meaning it doesn't come with some other software), then I probably don't have one.

As I said, the headset I'm using doesn't even have drivers. I did just update my GPU's drivers. This had no effect on the game (meaning I still get the same error as before).

Clearly there is something I'm missing here... and it's frustrating the hell out of me.

As I said, the headset I'm using doesn't even have drivers. I did just update my GPU's drivers.

I just went into device manager and checked everything in the sound section for driver updates. They are all, apparently, fully up to date.

I also use this for my codec problems in watching anime. Easy to install. Haven't bought the game yet though to say if it will fix your problems.

You are telling me this "codec" thing is something that might fix the problem? I was getting the impression it might be a potential issue.
