When I click Start game on Steam. It says updating executable and does nothing. Game won't even start. Is there a fix for this?

The entire Soviet storyline is ridiculous, even if we don't want to be 100% faithful and make a fictional propaganda story, this is still bad as that. So my question is, is it possible to simply swap the Soviet models with the German ones? The Soviets basically act as if they were Germans here, so it would fit nicely. I know that it is possible to swap models and textures, there is a mod that does this for the flags and uniforms to restore the swatikas. So can it be done for all the Soviet models too? (...
