DMC3 does change noticeably on DMD difficulty because enemies trigger not just if you take too long to defeat them but also if you've defeated a certain percentage of them, which can force you to be more strategic about who you target. So think about beating the game on higher difficulties as well. You can also beat the game with Vergil, just be extra careful not to overwrite your Dante save file.
Oh and are using the DDMK mod? It makes on-the-fly style switching possible, so try it out if you haven't already.
The only other difficult game in this series is DMC1, unfortunately. DMC5 does have a huge moveset for Dante, although but the game is easier. Other than that, there's Bayo or MGSR:R and a few other similar games to consider.
One of the creators of DMC1 taking inspiration from DMC3 and 4 after those released and improved on 1.
Same high difficulty as DMC3. Not the exact combat style as it is its own original game, but if you like one series youre likely to also like the other.
Or a failure to understand that you're supposed to lose and then learn from mistakes and try again. And theres a ton of difficulty modes that are much more challenging to push that even higher.
Yeah Bayonetta is awesome, at least as good as DMC3 (way better IMO), and Bayonetta 2 is superior in almost every way.
Oh, they make a ton of very questionable decisions dont get me wrong. But being the only publisher to fund Bayonetta 2 when every other one discarded the idea completely was a very good decision and result (they werent the first publishers approached with the request).
Without Nintendo, Bayonetta 2 would have just been cancelled.
