A mutliplayer rogue-lite with multiple classes and town development. Progression is all very linear and classes felt very unbalanced. My mage was a glass cannon without the cannon part and my paladin just made everything cake. Repetitive gameplay just in different biomes and ultimately uninteresting progression. Best with friends.

Fun game with friends for the price, however

I do feel kind of bamboozled for buying it because I own the first one, and the 2nd one feels like it could have just been a 10 dollar expansion for the first game

I guess what I'm saying is, is it doesn't feel much different from the first game, in fact if I haven't played either in say, 6 months or more, and you launched the game for me, had me play for an hour, then ask me "Is this hammerwatch 1 or 2" I couldn't tell you with confidence

I think the biggest difference, honestly, are the classes. It more or less feels like they gutted the previous classes, updated the levels and town a bit, tossed in new classes, and called it a sequel. I think I would have rather it been an expansion, that way you could have double the classes packaged into one game, instead of splitting the content across 2 games

Other than that gripe, it's just as fun as the original, it's great if you never played the first. I guess since you're basically getting a lateral amount of enjoyment, if you buy both you won't feel the first game is inferior to the 2nd, so there's that, I suppose.
