Some thought about the current level editor
Since I'm a "dive into the level editor and see what I can make" kind of person, here some thought about the level editor (sorry if I missed something obvious or being too rude):

Pros:
  • Nice looking UI
  • (basically) Limitless boundery
  • Easy to align parts while placing
  • Can test the level while making

Cons:
  • Some of the "radio series" parts have incorrect icon while placing
  • No way to move, rotate, or copy the placeed part
  • Not supporting feedback, causing levels based on sequential circuits like D flip-flops or shift registers hard or impossible to make

Not blaming for last one because combinational loops are pretty tricky to deal with, however allowing it will open a lot of possibility.
Adding small delay to gates might help solve the issue, but will brake a lot of the level due to race condictions[en.wikipedia.org] and hazards[en.wikipedia.org] but at the same time allowing many interesting designs.

Or running many iterations until all sequential outputs are stablized or the iteration limit is reached, which can solve the feedback issue and at the same time prevents some possible hazards.

Hey! Thanks for your feedback! I will consider it and maybe apply some of your suggestions and release them with the next (bigger) update.

All the best,

One question though, can you explain further what you mean with

"Especially frustrating when accidentally trigger some "one time" components"

?

That may be part of my fault. Sometimes when I was building the level I accidently blow my self up and there's no way to undo.
NightDrive  [developer] 26 Apr, 2017 @ 12:13am
What, you blew up? That shouldn't be possible in Build-Mode.. I just checked, when I go into my own level and edit stuff, I can trigger bombs as much as I want, the level doesn't blow up, until I leave Build mode, until which you should save your level. Does it really blow up during build mode? While placing a gate?

Oh, sorry, maybe I turned the build mode off without knowing. I will delete that one from the list.

Also, minor issues: when pressing Esc multiple times without clicking No or Yes the prompts seems stack one over another. No problem after clicking on one of the buttons though.

Also, is there any way to rename the playlist and delete a level repectively?

Hey! I implemented a button to delete a level from the playlist! :) Update is already out.

You've gotta be kidding there. The Editor UI doesn't even work for me. It's a total and utter mess.

What doesnt work for you?
MakoSipper 26 Apr, 2017 @ 10:26pm
it's impossible to edit levels. I can choose between tools, but I can't select them.

Also, the "create new level" never gets out of the screen.

That sounds like a bug.
So, normally you would create your own playlist and then enter build mode, scroll through the gates with RMB and left click to select one, then you can rotate it and place it with another left click. Until which part does this work for you? And for the UI to close you can click the menu button in the lower left again.

But thanks for your feedback and your review, even if it's negative, honest opinions are important. Help out with some more details and I will be looking into that issue.

I'm not kidding. It works for me and I even published some levels. My guess is some kind of system configuration differences or compatibility sort of things...

Created a playlist (barely, everything is all over the place). I could bring the menu with the items for the level, and B only worked for toggling the small window on the lower right corner. Everything else related to adding a new level never goes away.

@leo: Not just the editor. The level list scrolls down a lot, same for the menu list on the right. All menus show on top of each other... It's a complete mess. I thought my friend was overreacting a bit when he warned me, but no, he wasn't.

Anyway... Make good use of my money, I'm done with this, and I shouldn't even have had the trouble to explain what was going on after the sarcastic reply on my review implying your hard is too hard for what I wanted. It's not nice to be salty and passive-aggressive just because someone disagrees with you. I know it's probably "your baby", but c'mon...

@MakoSipper: Can you post some screenshots? I think it might be easier to find the problem with that.

Only aggressiv one here are you. I stayed calm and friendly. Also you can always use the functionality of Steam Refund if you didnt like the game. I think you have some more problems than just the game if you are able to overreact and over interpret so much into a 1,97$ game.
