I wouldn't personally recommend a modpack, as they takes days in some cases to install, and are very performance-unfriendly (you also need nexus premium for it to speed up just a bit). I have a 6 year old PC (also using the 2070 RTX), and it isn't anything special, but can run my mod list at about 56 FPS. I would recommend using Vortex mod manager, its incredibly easy to use, although it doesn't support all Skyrim SE mods for VR, you can just port them over manually or manually install them.
My mod list (important mods only):
- I install them in the order of the mod list. 1 being first.
1. Skyrim Script Extender for VR - Install manually, Vortex doesn't like it for some reason.
2. SkyUI - Install with Vortex.
3. Static Mesh Improvement Mod - Install with Vortex.
4. Skyrim 3D Trees and Plants - Install with Vortex, really important imo.
5. Sharper Eye Reshade - The most important, install manually, drag and drop into the Skyrim VR file directory. It is not an ENB, so do not download the ENB engine (only use an ENB if you are willing to sacrifice quite a bit of performance - unless your computer can handle it.)
6. Enhanced Lights and FX - Don't use the enhancer unless you are more interested in aesthetic whilst in dungeons, otherwise, its really difficult to see whilst exploring Skyrim. I use ELFX Weathers, Interiors and Exteriors, install with Vortex.
7. VRIK - Very important, install with Vortex. Gives you a body and arms.
8. HIGGS - Very important, install with Vortex, lets you touch stuff.
10. Skyrim VR Tools - Can't remember exactly what it does, but is used by other mods.
11. Skyland AIO - Install with Vortex, very important, for better performance use Noble Skyrim over the top (hence replacing the textures, and vacant ones being filled with AIO).
12. Skyland Bits & Bobs - Install with Vortex, makes all the little thinks that you can pick up highly detailed and in some cases animated, goes well with SMIM.
13. ESL Support - Install manually or with Vortex.
14. VR Address Library - Install with Vortex or manually.
15. Address Library - Install with Vortex, some mods don't run without it.
16. PLANCK - Install with Vortex, allows you to touch and grab NPCs, makes them respond to weapon slashes.
17. USSEP - Install with Vortex
18. USSEP VR Patch - Install with the manual (optional, but it does help as not everything gets patched without it.)
19. Engine Fixes VR - Install manually or with Vortex.
20. Light Limit Fix - Install with Vortex, (don't install with Community Shaders).
21. Males of Skyrim - Install manually, (dw - its SFW).
22. Riften in High Definition - Install manually, (not required but makes Riften look way better.)
The following are optional and are completely for immersion:
1. Mantella - Install with Vortex. (Go to OpenRouter website, make an account, then make a key, leave it blank so it is unlimited, then copy the key code thingy and go to your Skyrim VR Data folder, there should be a .txt called 'GPT_SECRET_KEY', paste in your key code there, and save the file.
2. Mantella Required Mods - Install with Vortex.
3. Mealtime - Install with Vortex, makes it so when in a tavern/ inn and you order food, a chef walks out and hands you the food, it makes eating it interactive, so you must manually scoop or fork the food etc.
4. Navigate VR - Install with Vortex, adds a compass and map to navigate with, really good fun in combination with Campfire.
5. Campfire (VR Compatibility) - Install with Vortex, lets you build a campfire, adds a purchasable tent and more, really good fun.
6. Realistic Tree Chopping - If I said that name right, Install with Vortex, lets you cut down any tree with an axe.
7. Throwable Weapons - Install with Vortex, makes any weapon you want like Thor's hammer or Captain's shield, incredibly immersive, good addition if you like the DB.
8. Sailable Ships VR - Install manually, put the contents into the Data folder. Adds ships that you can sail into the game. Go the the solitude lighthouse and purchase one there, wait X amount of in-game days and it should be there. Absolutely necessary.
9. Conduit - Install with Vortex, lets you temporarily imbue your weapon with a magic effects, (works well with Throwable Weapons).
10. Believable Weapons - Install with Vortex, makes weapon look and feel more crisp, especially in combination with aMidianBorn book of silence.
11. aMidianBorn book of silence - Install with Vortex, overhauls tonnes of enemies and weapons, makes the game feel fresh and the weapons satisfying to use.
12. HD Horses - Install manually, drag and drop contents into textures etc, makes the horses really realistic.
13. Be Seated - Install with Vortex, at the moment it doesn't work with VRIK unfortunately (for me anyway.)
To simplify the absolute essentials are:
1. Sharper Eye Reshade
2. Skyland AIO
3. Skyland Bits and Bobs
4. HIGGS
5. PLANCK
6. VRIK
7. SMIM
8. USSEP
9. SKSEVR
10. ELFX
11. 3D Trees
Just realised how much I wrote, sorry for the yap. Anyway hope this helps, this is just the majority of the mods that I use - not all of them - my instructions may not be perfect, so if something seems out of place, that is probably just me. Furthermore, these are just my preferences as I just don't like Wabbajack for whatever reason. Anyway.
Fus Ro Daah works stable on 2060 with VDXR + openxr fsr.
