I'm still stuck on Andrew's terminal.
Can I get some help?

Did you try to use help ?
helios.vmg 21 Nov, 2017 @ 8:46pm
Yeah, me too. The 'run' command doesn't work on anything, the commands on the post-it note don't work, and I have nowhere to put in the values in the PressureLevels.txt file. From the error messages the console is giving me it feels like it's not even parsing any command other than 'open'.

I did. I used all of the commands on every file in all of the folders. I have decided to take a break and come back later.

I'm still stuck. Tried a lot of commands and explored all the folders.

Hello Kane,

Thank you for playing the game :) From your words i can understand that you already understand how to use terminal commands. If you explored all the folders you must know how to use "sf" and "sf.." commands right? I suggest you to read TERMINAL MANUAL by typing help. It will be your light in this dark road. And dont forget to "take notes".

Thank you.

I've opened the pressurevalues.txt (or whatever the name was), explored a fair bit more, tried running/opening every other file, tried scanning, went for a walk to see if there's another terminal or keycard or something to adjust the pressure values.

Okay, I figured it out. I'll just say that you first need to use SCAN on one of the files and then CONNECT with a word from that file. SCAN only works on one file.

I feel like not telling the player all the rules (e.g. what constitutes a "sector") is not really a puzzle as such.

Yeah. Better error messages or clearer indicators would help a lot.

This.

The game doesn't specify what a sector is. The natural assumption of scanning and connecting to sectors is that they're sectors of the ship (especially when they're named things like "reactor" and "bridge"). Rather you're scanning / connecting to sectors of the terminal, which isn't really intuitive in the first place.

That and you have to trial and error to find out that scan goes with .scn, when a player would naturally use open or run commands on files.

Hello Nova225,

Thank you for sharing your feeling by dealing with the Terminal. It's completelly understandable. Let's see what we can do about it in really near future for more different gaming experience.

I really wanted to make a gameplay video about the game, but I can't in actual state. I'm a programmer, and I was stuck on the first "piston pressure" riddle. SCAN? Really? HELP says I should use it to a SECTOR - there is NO sector. There are only .scn and .trm files, and lots of DIRs, one .txt which is useful... when you know how to use it. I've spent around 2 hours tried to figure it out, to no avail...

Why there's a note telling me PURGE, DACT and EXIT are useful commands, if there's nothing about them in HELP and they're not working at all (got an error message when trying to use them)?

I can't even imagine how casual players (i.e. with no programming/scripting/bash skills) can enjoy or even understand the game. I'm disappointed :(

I found flashlight by accident, and when I picked it up, I couldn't even see what it was (a whole object was dark, without a pixel of light).

In a vent Andrew says "Go right, right, left", and the right direction was forward, right, left, left. Why? I've also found a place where Cooper climbed on a ladder and got out of the vent through CLOSED DOOR... and there was NOTHING interactive in the room, althought there was a huge game machine.

Dear devs, please fix the game and make it more fun and less painful and illogical.
