It runs fine on the Steam Deck - It installs the linux native version by default but you may want to play the windows version instead (go to the games compatibility settings and pick either "proton experimental" or one of the latest proton versions).

The reason for that is that the linux version has stuttering videos and minor graphics glitches on the deck while the windows version has none of that and runs perfectly fine as far as I could tell.

Ironically, the linux version also reproducibly crashes at certain points on my laptop running linux mint debian edition while the windows version is, again, the more solid option.

I am assuming that the linux version hasn't seen any maintainance in a while to adapt for newer kernels, drivers and library versions.

This happens all too oftern with linux native games on steam .... probably because the ONE person from the development team who did the linux port has eventually quit and now nobody else in the team knows how to maintain that port.

Also, another reason to play the windows version on linux is If you intend to play this game on multiple computers, say, a Steam Deck and a Windows PC and use the cloud save feature to keep the save files on both machines in sync, be aware that linux version saves and windows version saves are separate from each other

so if you start a new game on the linux version and save, you will not see that save when running the windows version and you have to start all over again.
