I miss Grandpa, one of the grumpiest and funniest characters ever to bless the gaming world

Grandpa is one of my favourite characters. A missed opportunity to have him hold off Fuge for you to then meet up with him later :(

The funny thing is you can "kinda" beat Fuge in the library (not really, but still...). In the original if you keep firing at him with the slingshot the numbers showing how much damage you deal will eventually turn orange. I got bored and left before it turned dark red, but I tried it in the GOG remake and it doesn't seem to work.

Is it possible to beat Fuge in the first encounter where grandpa gets killed?

nope, if you make his hp go down i think he eventually said enough games and we run away automatically but i could be wrong

So, I spent about 45 minutes today trying to kill him.

My observation is that you can get him to orange (some 150 - 200 shots doing 3 damage each per color change), but then he stays orange.

I never reached red.

So I had him on orange, then I went down to attack him.

The first hit killed him, and Fuge's corpse vanished like a normal enemy.

The game goes on as normal after that, with David swearing he'll avenge his grandpa ':D
EDIT: I continued from the savegame where I had killed Fuge. And yes, Fuge still shows up in future cut scenes and as a boss :(

i think i did the same thing :)) those days, the devs didn't know the speedrunner or darksouls community:)
