Games that dare to ask "What if Stardew Valley was stupid?"

This game really is a drag. It's good enough to keep you playing, but there's just so much grinding, and it never pays off. You have to unlock tons of levels on the "tech tree" for something that you only need to use once, and a lot of times, once you really get the hang of something, it's no longer relevant to the game. For instance, once you really get the ability to make money, there is nothing you need to spend it on.

This game could have been really good, it definitely has fun aspects and I enjoyed exploring it, but it was poorly designed in many ways and has no replay value.

I tried it twice. I dropped it twice.
but that doesn't mean that the game is bad.

It feels like Stardew Valley with a goofy vibe from Breathedge.

the reason I dropped: I just wanted to eat some human flesh, burn corpses, and decorate the church, but it feels like my desired mechanics were locked behind 100 mandatory things I don't want to do.

lack of freedom, lots of walking around
