Patch 4.6 is coming to Hyper Universe! Because we're gearing up for the exciting launch of Hyper Universe on Xbox One August 7, this is going to be a smaller patch. But we're thrilled to bring you a new batch of skins that were designed specifically with fan requests in mind, as well as new missions, a new season of Ranked Mode, and best of all, two new hypers!

• Maya and Kairos have joined the fight! Maya is a 6-year-old goddess and Support hyper who helps her team from atop her pet golem Toto, creating protective barriers for her allies and delivering destructive damage with Toto's rock-solid fists. Kairos, meanwhile, is a Specialist who uses his dark powers as a banished High Priest to channel the souls of the dead and inflict gradual damage on enemies. *Note that when reaching Lv. 10 with Kairos, he will not have a mastery skin to obtain.

• Play 10 non-custom matches in Delta Station to earn 1 Hyper Coupon

• Get Aisha's Goth Girl skin by winning 5 non-custom matches!

• The event will last from July 12 to August 16 and will start and end at 8:00 AM UTC (1:00 AM PDT / 4:00 AM EDT/ 10:00 AM CEST / 6:00 PM AEST)

• Get Victoria's Pure Bride skin by winning 5 non-custom matches!

• The event will last from August 16 to September 13 and will start and end at 8:00 AM UTC (1:00 AM PDT / 4:00 AM EDT/ 10:00 AM CEST / 6:00 PM AEST)

• Season 2 of Ranked Mode will kick off on July 12, 2018 and last through January 10, 2019.

• Players who complete their 10 placement matches and reach Silver rank will receive Ignitia's Psion skin.

• A bug has also been fixed that was preventing Ranked name tags from appearing properly when friends were off-line.

• In Delta Station, the blue transparent walls on the first floor of the map will now disappear after 520 seconds.

• References to the status effect "Listen Closely" has been changed to "All Ears"

• The "100 Assists" story has been re-added to the game

• Tooltip text for Ladders will now display correctly under Game Info

• Zet's “Joke”, “Victory”, and “Defeat” text lines now match the accompanying VO under game info

• Basic Breakdown
  
  • The first team to reach the objective of 40 kills will win the game.
  • Edited on June 18: In Custom Matches, the number of kills needed to win the game will account for the number of players in each team and will automatically adjust. For example, if Team A has 3 players and Team B has 2 Players, the kill objective gets reduced to 30 kills.
  • Gold and EXP accumulation are accelerated. Each Hyper starts with 12,000 Gold at the beginning of each match.
  • Hypers will regen 20% of overall health per sec when out of combat.
  • Jack's Magic Box spawns every 60 secs that grants you an 'almost' God Mode buff. Ok, not really, but you only take 1 damage per attack from the enemy.

House of Mystery Progressive Mission Event
For a limited time, progressively fight to your death and win matches earn Jack's exclusive Bloodstained Madness skin and other special rewards.
When:

• Pacific (UTC -7): June 14 after maintenance - July 12 1:00AM PDT
• Eastern (UTC -4): June 14 after maintenance - July 12 4:00AM EDT
• Brazil (UTC -3): June 14 after maintenance - July 12 5:00AM BRT
• London (UTC +1): June 14 after maintenance - July 12 09:00 BST

Event Details:

• Play 2 games of House of Mysteries and earn 3 Hyper Cubes
• Win 3 additional games and earn a Hyper Core
• Win 2 more games and earn a Hyper coupon
• Win 3 just more games and earn Jack's Bloodstained Madness skin
• In the last stretch, play 2 more games and earn a Skin coupon.

In Patch v4.4, we had removed the Rank Decay penalty as part of our efforts to not penalize players if they couldn't find matches. With Season 1 now ending, further changes will be made based on player feedback received through the season.

• Qualifications to receive Sonya's Sonny Boy skin has been modified to expand the number of players rewarded.
  The new updates are:
  • Players must have completed their 10 placement matches, down from the 50 matches that was previously required.
  • Players no longer need to be in Gold tier, but must be at least in Silver or higher by the end of the Season.

• New Season 1 Emblems will be distributed based on the highest tier reached.
• While in Hyper Selection Mode, your highest tier reached in the previous season will now be displayed under your name.
• The Nametag will only appear after completing a Ranked game in the new pre season. This feature can be toggle on/off by going to the Solo Rank tab under Account.

• Updated on June 18: The matchmaking system for Rank Mode during Season 1 only allowed players to match with others that were around the same tier.
  With preseason happening, the matchmaking criteria for players to find a match has been widened for high tier players.
  Further analysis will be conducted to determine our next course of action to better improve the system for players who want to play Ranked Mode.

• Preseason will immediately begin after maintenance.
• As part of a new feature we are testing, players will receive a new colored name plate after playing their first ranked match. The colors are based on the highest tier reached during preseason. These name plates will be displayed in the game lobby, the Hyper Selection phase, and the loading screen.

Note: Colors for these name tags will appear immediately after completing the placement matches.

Dev Comment: Pinky is powerful in the early part, but her skills become less efficient towards near end game. As a result, the Mana efficiency of her skills and skill numbers were increased to make her more viable during combat. Additionally, a function was added to increase the Movement Speed of allies and decrease the Movement Speed of enemies when they are within range of Rainbow Dance. This adds to her ultimate's effectiveness in the battlefield.

• Fixed a rare issue where players would lose functionality when starting a Custom Match.

• Description for Gelimer's Spark Generator changed to remove Health cost instead of Mana cost
• Fixed a text issue for the item Precision Rail Gun.

• We have improved controllers once again. The cursor should automatically disappear while in game and pings can be made via the right joystick.

Regular Attack

• Attack and heal range reduced from 1100 units to 950 units.

[Skill] EMP Trap

• Max charges reduced from 5 to 4
• Trap duration reduced from 60 seconds to 35 seconds

[Skill] Salvation Protocol

• Now affects all allies including Elendis
• Reduced the overall healing.

Hey Hypers,

Get ready to be a part of Dr. Schmidt’s experiments! Dr. Schmidt is a mischievous Support capable of buffing your allies and poisoning your enemies. Dr. Schmidt will be added to the game as part of our 4.4 patch on May 10th.

Passive - Gene Sample

• Grants a chance for enemy Hypers to drop a gene sample when they die. Collecting the sample lets Dr. Schmidt use Gene Enhancement once more.

Chemical Toss (A)

• Throws a medicine bottle to do damage and lower the enemy’s attack.

Nerve Injector (Q)

• Pierces the enemy in front with a giant syringe to do damage and lower their Move Speed. Infected enemies suffer additional effects.

Poison Infusion (W)

• Uses a gas mask to release deadly poison that restores Dr. Schmidt’s Health, does damage, and poisons the enemies nearby. Infected enemies are slowed on top of taking even more damage over time.

Toxin Zone (E)

• Creates a toxin zone for a short time, applying enhanced effects to Dr. Schmidt and weakening effects on enemies.

Gene Enhancement (R)

• Consumes one of the collected samples to permanently enhance himself or an allied Hyper.

Dr. Schmidt relies on the players’ map awareness above all else. In order to effectively support your team you will need to utilize his Gene Sample skill as much as possible. This means moving around the map each time you see that your team has killed an enemy Hyper to check for a gene sample. You can stack up to 20 collected at a time but you’ll quickly burn through them as you activate his ultimate skill Gene Enhancement. Each time you activate Gene Enhancement you will be able to boost a specific stat for an ally. While you are moving around the map, you’ll want to use skills like Chemical Toss and Poison Infusion to slow down and weaken enemies, enabling your team to pick up easy kills. The key to being successful as Dr. Schmidt is not to sit in one place too long. He excels at moving around the map creating opportunities for your team, so keep that in mind!

Superior Gene Sample, Mystery Bottle, Executioner’s Cleaver, Medic System, Shock Knuckles, Blue Hyper Ring

Dr. Schmidt is no front line attacker. He relies on staying out of harm’s way whenever possible. To that end, you'll want to build him with as much Defense and Max Health as you can find. The first of his unique items that you’ll want to buy is Mystery Bottle. This item will increase the detrimental effects when it hits enemies and allow you to use it more often, thus enabling more opportunities for your team to take down an enemy Hyper. Superior Gene Sample not only raises the chances of your passive triggering on an enemy, but also provides a Gold and Defense bonus to Dr. Schmidt. Executioner’s Cleaver provides a nice damage buff for when you are poisoning the enemies repeatedly at range. The rest of the items such as Medic System, Shock Knuckles, and the Blue Hyper Ring provide a good mix of both Defense and Offense. You can also build him with movement speed and cooldown reduction if you are feeling adventurous, so get out there and build something interesting!
