It doesn't make me feel like I wanna keep playing

i have mixed feelings about this game
though i love most of indie-giants, and everyone recommended dead cells - i didn't find it very fun

it has some awesome ideas: combining metroidvania and roguelikes, having tons of references to other indies, without saying about actual game design and other awesome stuff

but core gameplay: travelling and fighting - simply do not engage me. already after few hours it just felt like a chore and I just wanted to finally beat that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clock location! but when i did, finishing the rest of the game felt too easy and too fast.
i tried to finish it a few more times, but then came to realization that I'm not having fun, so i quit

i actually encourage you to at least try it, but don't cling to it if you don't like the game

Dead Cells is the GOAT of roguelikes! The combat is smooth, with a variety of weapons to fit any playstyle. The procedurally generated world keeps things fresh, and the diverse biomes are fun to explore. Enemies are challenging but fair, pushing you to get better. Even with permadeath, progression feels rewarding. The mysterious lore adds depth without being intrusive. Perfect for quick sessions or all-nighters, this game’s endless replayability and killer aesthetics make it a must-play. If you love action-packed, challenging Metrodivania... Then this game is definitely for you

this game rewards you for bashing your skull into a wall
but also still kicks your ass at the same time

my favourite roguelite by far. the combat is really satisfying. it was hard at first and i hated the game. inspite of that i kept coming back trying to make it further than i could previously. eventually, i became addicted and i would spend hours playing it on steam as well as an android copy that i purchased because i really wanted to have this game on the go as well. my total play time for this game on all platforms would probably be over 30 overs so far. i plan to keep playing this game for as long as possible. this could be my "forever game". a game that i can come back to any time at any stage in life. it used to be minecraft and roblox for me but i've since gotten a upgrade in my taste for games. (not that mc or roblox are bad but ive since broaden the scope of games i play). im sad that the devs are no longer going to update the game with new content but im glad that this game gets to end with a bang with the castlevania dlc. i reccommend everyone try this game out. even if you don 't like pixel graphics, this game will surprise you.
