Same here. One time in 5 I can get to the 'grab stuff with yr mouse' msg, then it dies. Other times, just a 'send logs' popup. tries compatibilty, run as admin, smaller rez (almost starts at runs at 1680/1050)

This is an old thread, but I will answer anyways; just in case that anybody still have the same problem and searches for a solution.
I had the same problem. The game crashed right after it started in the VR Game and in Non-VR as well. Even an exception rule in the firewall didn‘t do the trick, although it must have something to do with it, I think.
At last I turned off the internet connection. This helped and now I can play the game in VR and Non-VR.
I hope this trick helps anybody else with the same problem, too.

I got it to work by blocking the game in the firewall. It is just not the main executable you have to block. The executable I blocked was: <patth-to-steam-games-folder>\TheInvisibleHours\CTRLroom\Binaries\Win64\CTRLroom-Win64-Shipping.exe
This way you can also play it over airlink if you happens to have a Occulus Quest.
