Carrier Deck Improvement Ideas
Its more of a complete new Game because i would like alot to be changed.

Features/Changes:

-Carrier itself and its features is awesome, add some CIWS and other Carrier Defense Weapons so the Carrier itself and/or Strike Group can strike back
-Open World 3D Carrier Deck with being able to walk trough the Carrier in first Person, go to bridge and manage the entire Carrier and Strike Group alone or with your Friends
-Huge procedural Map with big oceans, landmasses, islands etc with your own Country/Base aswell as allies and Enemies
-Dynamic Weather and voxel like damage system (On pretty much everything)
-Huge fleet including Jets, Cargo Planes, Helis, Landing Crafts, Hovercrafts, Tanks etc.
-Multiplayer with Players being able to play various Crew, from Carrier Captain over Gunner to Decksman and more
-Eventually expand the Gameplay to the other Ships of the Strike Group or even all the other Vehicles and even Soldiers.

This Features in a completely new developed Game could lead to a awesome and immersive Multiplayer Game with dozen of Players manning Carriers or entire fleets and fight against AI or other Players.

This Idea was inspired by Carrier Command 2 which was pretty good in some points but not as good as it could be, i expected a Gameplay pretty much like in this Game.

Thanks for reading trough, leave your opinion here, maybe together with others this idea could become the Carrier Game we all wish for ;)

PS: Everyone has a different Opinion, i respect everyones opinion and can take constructive Critics, but mean negative critic without facts or a true basis is just stupid^^

That's interesting but like you said in your intro this is like another completely different and new game. I fail to see how it is linked with Carrier Deck.

More of a mix between Carrier Deck and Carrieer Command 2 but with few additional features such as driving the Carrier, parking jets not only in Hangars but also on the Flightdeck (when no flight operations or only in landings you can store some at the bug aswell) and much more.

Can allready imagine playing it lol

I don't really want to bust your bubble, but I guess I'm going to do it nevertheless.

From my experience of such games, which are totally ignored by big companies and hardly ever picked up by indies... The development of such a grand scale game would take almost a decade to complete. And most of the time they never complete at all.

The good news for you is that I've seen the prototype of such a game in one of the last Steam events. A shame that I cannot remember the name of it but it was totally a pre-pre-alpha release anyways. You might want to look for this and keep an eye on it.

Give the carrier escorts. maybe side tabs you click for another warship. maybe one of those can be a smaller helicopter assault ship or destroyers that can launch missiles as well as its own helicopters. And we know we have the best... but our best should get their asses shot down sometimes at least. If planes wreck, let us lose them - don't send a magical replacement. Blah blah blah

I'd like to see on the survival portion that the cargo planes actually benefit you rather than just be a nuisance. In this mode, they add health to your carrier, if it has been damaged.

There should also be an option to order/decommission aircraft. The former for if you feel they are necessary to survive longer, the latter for if you have so many aircraft of one type they take up too much space either on the deck (or in the maintenance hold if the deck has no more room).

The decommissioning would proceed just like in the campaign, only you create the "mission" to only fuel the selected aircraft type and send it on its way.

Another thing is the aircraft getting malfunctions/get damaged from combat ought to be more random. As it is you get one guaranteed problem free sortie after a visit to the repair bay, beyond that they return with a problem needing to be fixed or risk crashing on either takeoff or landing (with a very small chance to survive both but a guaranteed crash on next takeoff without maintenance).

Recon missions, such as the "brown" helicopter mission or radar/sonar missions don't get damages, but malfunctions that once in a while occur over prolonged uses without maintenance visits. This makes sense so I don't see any problem, though a tweaking on its randomness couldn't hurt if only slightly.

But combat damages should happen at any time, even the first sortie of a given aircraft/-s, though not all craft in a squadron should receive the same damage, only a random selection (which can include all of them in a really bad combat mission or none in a great one) The ECM plane of a squadron should be somewhere in between the recon and combat crafts in terms of overall frequency of damages/malfunctions.

Additional mission types would be fun as well. Extraction missions for Ospreys or Helicopters, which may only need fuel to perform but can still cause damage from fire taken during the process.
If you had access to Cobras or other kinds of attack choppers then they could have anti-helo missions or battle support for allied ground forces.

Planes could have escort missions, which may require a blend of several armaments and equipment; a balanced loadout if you will, in order to tackle any threat coming their way.

I'm sure there are other examples, but I think you all get what I'm saying

Anything here is only sharing of ideas, not anything to the devs, unless they revisit this game later for whatever reason (unlikely)

The actual dev shared that he really wanted to continue working on this game. You never know, he might want to take a few ideas and try again on his own sometime. ;)
