Turret placement is completely broken.

Tried to merge a HMG with a rusted flamethrower, couldn't. Kept trying, wondering what I was doing wrong (the prompt was simply "Release to merge turret").

I started writing a post here asking if there was some trick I was missing, went back to try again before posting... and it worked...

But the HMG became a second rusted flamethrower.

And couldn't be removed.

Seems somewhat similar to [urlhttps://gtm.steamproxy.vip/app/578690/discussions/0/1640926712931574346/]this bug from 2019[/url] (#2).

Restarting the game let me remove my turrets, but my HMG is still a rusted flamethrower.
