is this supposed to stay on the pixel arcade LOADING screen so long?

I know what a handful of the pop culture references are in THE VIDEOKID, but not all of them. I've been looking across the web to see if anyone knows what all of them are, but to no avail. Is there anyone who can provide a list of all the pop culture references (in no particular order) that appear in this game?...

I really really enjoy this game and made it now i guess 6 times till "this" problem. You got followed by a car which throws stuff at you, short after, the message "PRESS (Arrow up) TO ESCAPE!" I pressed it a whole dang time and i failed every time. later i tried to press it more often, another time maybe in another moment. i duno *what* i did wrong or doing wrong but it seems like the game will not that i win it here. Tell me if someone else has this problem. im not sure if that is a bug but if its NOT ...
