Velvet Beautifier - A mod loader/tool for this game
Introduction

Hey y'all!

I want to show you guys something that I've been working on for over one year:

Meet Velvet Beautifier

About

Velvet Beautifier is a Mod Loader/Tool for Them's Fightin' Herds

This software allows you to modify the game assets/files with ease (almost)! You can have:

  • custom Stages (referred as levels in-game and by the software)
  • custom Pixel Lobbies
  • custom Chapters

There are also other things that are possible but currently nobody knows really how they work:

  • custom Palettes
  • custom Character/Fighter sprites
  • custom Level Music

And for clarification this is impossible without modifications to the executable

  • custom Characters/Fighters
  • new Level Type
  • custom Character Stats

Usage

The software comes with two version but can work together:

  • a Command line (VelvetBeautifier.CLI) for ze pros
  • a Graphical User Interface (VelvetBeautifier.GUI) for much easier use

To create a Mod you can follow this basic tutorial I made[github.com] (this is very technical)

We have **no relation** to Mane6/Maximum Entertainment/Them's Fightin' Herds, all assets used by the software are from the game and fall under their copyright.
We are **not responsible** for you getting banned from online play if you use any mods that might change online gameplay/features.
We do **not support** piracy/cheating/hacking or any kind of harm to the online community

Download

Linux, Windows and MacOS is supported, you also need the .NET 8.0 Runtime[dotnet.microsoft.com] if you don't have it

I will also answer any of your questions but keep in mind that I busy guy just like you so it might take some time to respond

Crazy. I was actually wondering just now if the community for this game managed to make proper mods yet. It'd be the only way to make this game worthwhile again.

Honestly considering the devs will no longer be adding content or making the story mode, I do wish fans would mod the game more, maybe even do what the original devs did and make a fan game of it.
I am also still surprised no one has made fan animations, since has TONS of potential for a series of shorts.
Or heck even a comic series, etc.
