I bought ORIGINAL Batman Arkham City few years ago,not GOTY Recently I tried to play that again,but it says enter the serial number. I don't have serial number for this game. so I couldn't launch it. Can I play this game again?

my game (the original non -goty steam version) is suddenly asking me for my serial key. and valve in it's infinite wisdom, removed the serial key from the game. I know i have the GOTY version, but I purchased all the DLC for it back in the day, and i have a save game on this copy which is at new game +, so why not play this version. anyone know how to get past the serial key screen?...
