Unable to progress beyond Name with Steam Deck

Unable to enter a name when playing the game with Steam Deck. Game does not recognize enter or pressing the A button to commit the name.

This seems like a perfect game for Steam Deck, I hope it becomes playable.

Even though I was able to start a game with the above method, I was unable to load a save the next day. The steam+right d-pad doesn't confirm nor enter on the Steam Deck keyboard or pressing A. Sad that I can't get farther into it.
