DS:R was released in '18
So, dude, it's dated because it is a remaster of a thirteen year old game
Eldan Ring is a modern game. If you want to play their modern game, go play it. Don't come here whining about a 6 year old game built on a thirteen year old game isn't modern.
What does my age have to do with this? I am just saying the game feels really dated and it would be awesome if they had done a remake instead like the Demons Souls remake which plays and looks incredible.
What a bunch a crybabies some of you are here when you hear something you dont like about your favorite game
Like sending stuff to store from the map.
It has a few newly added items and weapons and I think 1 added event for the Sodden ring.
Frame timings(eg.parry, swing speed) are the exact same as in OG even if they look different.
So DSR remaster is also 98% the same game and they added 60fps and fixed some issues and made it look very slightly better in some places than the 2012's PC release.
+made some quality of life added like use multiple souls at once, password matchmaking, better matchmaking from DS3.(still has way too many loopholes).
Both DS games are dated but can still be fun to play.
Demon souls,Dark souls 1 and 2 are slower paced by design.
And most bosses are simple.
Areas tend to be harder than in later games especially DS2.
Some places in Demon souls like word 5 has tough area but very simple easy bosses.
Bloodborne,Dark souls 3 and Elden ring are faster paced by design.
Dodge cost also cost much less stamina in those games.
That said most ppl are happy with the remaster as it has good reviews.
Command and Conquer 1 remaster also has good reviews despite the extremely dated unit AI.
But yes Elden ring from 2 years ago is more modern than Dark souls 1 from 13 years ago.
Obviously Dark souls remastered could have used stuff from later games like spells cost stamina etc.But then it would be an entirely different game.....not what most ppl wanted.
Then again, easy to misunderstand the intent with so few words.
And IMHO, the best games can still look like games, nothing wrong with that. Time to think about that and get heads out of the photo-real hole.
- Anim cancelling when doing a emote; couple of times I go to bow to someone I invaded and they just back-stab me or whatever
- Fast climbing/descending on ladders
- Bonfire somewhere in New Londo
Otherwise - I cannot think of much that would "help" without obliterating the things that makes this game distinct from the others. Maybe add a use for the "Sanctuary Guardian"
souls too?
Updated visuals of-course being always appreciated.
