The same here ! Never had this crash before on Win 7... but now with 8.1 this game is crashing the way you described.

I get this as well. My game crashs about 10-30 mins after the sounds stops

yeah I get a similar delay before the crash, very strange

I just got this game yesterday, but maybe they released a patch a few weeks ago that gave this bug???

I've had it for quite a long time now, it doesn't happen THAT often but it is every now and then

I have sometimes this bug (rare times in fact) this sometimes happen dont know what it is i experienced this with my computer and now i have the same bug with my portable computer i dont know what to do but its not recently released patch because the most recently patch was releases in 2011 lol

I'm having the same issue. It is really annoying in multiplayer matches. Only fix I've found remotely related to this is about Windows audio throttling but it didn't fix the issue for me. It is more about lag issues anyway.

This problem has been around a long time as has the game. Found a bunch of threads about this but no solutions.

Using Windows 8, 64-bit as well. I've changed from onboard audio to a sound card at some point but it didn't help.

Turn off the sound effects and main volume in the game settings, or use the -nosound switch in the game launcher.
