we just uploaded a small patch with a fix for custom keyboard controls that showed VR controls in some cases or didn't allow some actions to be remapped.

We fixed some minor issues some of you reported with the last patch, such as:

• The final achievement did not trigger correctly for everyone. That should now be fixed and update once you restart the game
  
• SteamVR launched automatically even if not playing the VR version
  
• the invert camera options in the menu were reset to the default value automatically
  
• font sizes and colors in some menu areas were updated for better readability on SteamDeck

If you find more issues and bugs, please continue to report :)

Hi all!

You might have noticed that Lost Ember is finally playable on the Steam Deck! :) The game had a couple of video issues on the Steam Deck, but we've finally found a way to eliminate those soooo:

- Lost Ember is now running on Steam Deck! :LostEmberIcon:
- Alongside the development for both Steam Deck and the VR version, a variety of fixes made their way into the new build. Especially a couple of crashes and collision bugs should no finally be fixed

We love Lost Ember on Steam Deck! Let us know what you think <3 And if you're still experiencing bugs, please continue reporting them!

Hi Community! We have big news today!

We created our own indie publishing label called Mooneye Indies in order to help narrative and wholesome indie games reach the audience they deserve. Way too often the most wonderful little gems fly under the radar even though the community is out there looking for beautiful wholesome games or meaningful narrative experiences. Especially small indie teams struggle with reaching enough people, to make all their blood, sweat and tears worth it when the title finally sees the light of day. We learned so much while self-publishing Lost Ember worldwide and on multiple platforms simultaneously, that we decided to share what we learned and help others.

Cut to the chase though :D We are completely in love with our first title as a publisher and could not have found a more wholesome game to start out with.

We have a brand new patch for you and it's a big one! This last patch really demanded quite a bit more attention than we had planned. But let's get right to it:

• NEW FEATURE: we implemented a minimalistic game mode that allows you to turn off all ingame commentary of your spirit companion. This way you can fully concentrate on the visuals and figure out what exactly happened all by yourself. This feature can be toggled on and off at any time during the game, so we urge everyone to try it out!
  
• A lot of fixes: we've been combing through all your reports of crashes or other bugs and managed to fix a whole bunch of them! If you experienced a crash that stopped you from getting through the game, please try it again after this patch!
  
• Controls: invert vertical AND horizontal. Finally!
  
• Controls: hummingbirds now have a way faster default speed (without dashing)
  
• Performance improvements: a lot of areas should run smoother on older systems and loading hitches should be reduced
  
• New language: we added Turkish language support
  
• Fixed some typos and missing translations for various languages

since Microsoft dropped support for Windows 7 a while ago, we cannot build the game with the necessary Win 7 redistributables anymore. Unfortunately this means that (at this point) you cannot benefit from new patches anymore. We are still working on this and are trying to figure out if there is something we can do, but until then we added a new branch to the Lost Ember depot to allow you to play the latest version before this patch. To access this branch, just right-click Lost Ember in your Steam library, go to Properties -> Betas and choose "windows7" from the dropdown list.

And as I always: please continue to report any bugs or issues you have with the new version either here as a comment or in a new thread in the forums.

Hello wonderful people!

As you know we're constantly working on fixing bugs or bringing other improvements into the game. The process is usually as follows:

1. Some of you report a bug or request a feature
   
2. We implement it
   
3. We test it internally
   
4. For bigger changes, we test a bit more
   
5. We release it

Now that process can take several days or even weeks while some of you might wait for crucial fixes. So we decided to open up our preview branch! That way we can always upload an untested version of a fix that might allow you to progress to the next chapter without that annoying crash and (if you want to go back to a more stable version) switch back to the released version afterwards. Your savegames are interchangeable and work with both versions.

So if you're stuck with a bug or just want to see what we're working on, go to your Steam Library, right-click Lost Ember, go to Properties -> Betas and choose "preview" in the dropdown list.

It’s a Merch Store! We have a Merch Store!

A lot of you have been asking for Lost Ember merch and especially for a plush wombat. We made a prototype of a plush wombat, but we need to find out if enough people are actually willing to buy before we start ordering because there’s minimum and we’re afraid we might end up sitting on a massive pile of plush wombat :D So we added a poll to the merch store, make sure to fill it out if you would buy a plush wombat when it's ready to be shipped!

Ok, yea, just go check it out. Just one more thing I wanted to mention. The Wombert prototype is the work of Francis, who joined us recently for an internship. She’s awesome and we may want to keep her around (she’s an animator with some secret bonus skills that we didn’t really know about before :D).

NOTE to everyone from the US: we just now got notice that shipping to the US is currently heavily restricted due to COVID-19 measures. We're not sure how long these restrictions will continue for, but at the moment we cannot say how long shipping to the US will take. Probably at least a couple of weeks. Apparently there's also a way to offer special shipping for an extra $20, but not sure how or if we're eligible for that yet. We'll keep you posted!
