I had a lot of fun overall but I think the middle section of the game kills all the momentum (and fun) with the last stretch of the game trying to get back on track... unsuccesfully. The combat never loses its charm, an incredible blend of tension and catharsis. I was screaming war cries and making gun sound effects in real life when my bullet-time mid-air 360 dual-uzi ambush went off without a hitch; I have never done this whilst playing a video game before. But the aforementioned middle of the game turns into a platformer and tries to make killing people a puzzle; which would be fine if the players movement and toolset reflected this genre change; which it does not. It feels like playing someones fan-made levels rather than the offical campaign, the platforming is slow and easy but goes on for way too long.

The end of the game does try to make shooting dudes the focus again but in-between shootouts there's a lot of tedious platforming again which had me groaning. This is also when snipers are introduced which for me did not work at all, I didn't like using the sniper rifle and I didn't have any trouble killing snipers. I like how interactive the levels were, the frying pan, knives and explosives were all neat and I wish the game used them all more often. The bosses were all fine with the exception of Ophellia who was the low point in an already underwhelming end to the game.

I just wish My Friend Petro had tried to do more with the shooting instead of switch gameplay styles. Replaying the beginning of the game for achievement hunting and high scores was an awful lot of fun, and even some of the fights at the end of the game were quite exciting. I get the horrible feeling the developers got insecure that their game didn't have enough variety when the power fantasy John Wick-style combat was more than enough for me.

After beating the web game years ago and loving to a few years ago beating the mobile game and thoroughly enjoying it this game is by far the best out of both of any game in this genre, definitely play through to the end because the last two levels were my favourite
