it has komaru. that's the only good thing about it

This game is really unfunny, does not cover problematic topics well, in my opinion it is catering to a lot of fetishes and tries to capitalize on them, one of which I would say is even CP.

Overall. Hated the game, dragged out. ♥♥♥♥, boring and useless.

it's the only entry in the danganronpa franchise i dislike. sure this series is riddled with flaws but i enjoy the characters, the mechanics and the concepts surrounding the game that i can often overlook or try to hc things around these flaws. however in the one spin-off game in the series... i don't really like much of it.

characters are a real mixed bag. i liked nagisa. i though monaca was a decently compelling villain. i really like komaru but um that's probably because of reasons that took years to manifest. kinning and what not WHATEVER. basically every other new character introduced either sucks ass or is a minor character with no screen time. some of there are really grating. kurokuma and jataro are nigh-unloveable characters. they both feel one-note and have practically no positives.

i also feel like some of the heavier topics this game incorporates into its story is not handled with enough care that it comes across as disrespectful. especially the third chapter. i'm not against stuff like this being represented in media, but i think i don't trust danganronpa to do it well.

but most importantly, the game just felt kinda boring. the structure of the game is pretty linear especially since you can't go back and combat is pretty basic. it's like resident evil but without the tension or the careful resource management,, or the difficulty. i'm mostly trying to relay my thoughts from several years ago, i'm not super clear on everything but i'm certain the gameplay was just a drag to get through.

if you're running through the series, i feel like you could miss this one out. maybe find a summary of the game before moving onto danganronpa 3. i personally don't think this spin-off is worth the time
