Version 1.7 - Experimental Beta - known features/issues.
New thread for the upcoming update. This will be continually updated until the official, full, release of 1.7 to the main branch.


IGNORE ALL BELOW TEXT (Unless you want to read it), 1.7 HAS OFFICIALLY RELEASED!


WARNING: THIS IS AN EXPERIMENTAL VERSION, YOU CAN POTENTIALLY LOOSE PROGRESS ON ANY CREATION THAT YOU SAVE IN THIS BRANCH. IT IS ADVISABLE NOT TO EDIT OR CREATE IMPORTANT BUILDS IN THE EVENT OF THE SAVE BEING NOT REGISTERED.

It is also highly recommended that any custom mods that you may have installed be removed. This is to ensure the best possible Beta experience, as several issues have been linked to mods.

03/06/24 - First version of 1.7 made publicly available on the experimental beta branch.

Current/known features

Information from Fluppi regarding todays patch. (Information from Discord - 03/06/24).

- Made text bricks, image bricks, lights and wheels scalable.
- Added fractional scaling of all scalable bricks. (Can be adjusted to be as small as 1cm)
- New scalable brick - Half cone.
- Added different fonts and outlines for text bricks.
- Added glow and LED matrix material for light bricks.
- Improved glow visuals of light bricks.
- Added flare brick.
- Added sprocket and idler wheels for tracks.
- Added two missile related sensor modes.
- Reworked network synchronisation of vehicle, item and projectile movement.
- Fixed tool-tips sometimes appearing in wrong position on screen.
- Added LODs for all bricks (improves rendering performance).
- Made actuator sounds less annoying (experimental change).
- Fixed bricks being shown as connecting after starting to move in editor despite not connecting to anything.
- Fixed bricks rotating weirdly around gimbal lock angles (X axis pointing straight up or down).
- Fixed vehicle browser stuck loading after changing category while loading.
- New ability to view likes and dislikes for creations through the in-game workshop UI. You can also like creations through this.
- Server descriptions are now centred.

- Made exhaust scalable and added square exhaust.
- Fixed sprocket brake strength not being used on idler wheels.
- Fixed corner ramp 3x2x1 L having invalid collision.
- Fixed gun 4x2x2 being rotated 180 degrees.
- Fixed brick 5x1x1 using incorrect mesh.
- Fixed scalable quarter cone LODs being shaded incorrectly.
- Fixed being able to select unsupported ammo types on gun bricks.
- Fixed brick material alpha slider not blending colors correctly.
- Made editor connector visualization scale down on small bricks.
- Disabled collision between flare projectiles.
- Made explosive projectiles always explode when hit by another projectile.
- Fixed missiles decelerating when flying close by a targeted flare.
- Decreased suppressor sound attenuation radius.

- Fixed panel bricks being loaded with glass material instead of plastic from legacy saves.
- Fixed images from image bricks not being hidden in the editor.
- Fixed crash when spawning vehicle.
- Fixed vehicle guns not firing anymore when repairing while reloading.
- Fixed freeze when sprocket and idler are in the exact same position.
- Fixed windscreen 4x6x3 having invalid collision.
- Fixed box exhaust collision scaling incorrectly.
- Fixed scalable cone with flat top having incorrect normals.
- Fixed prop 5x1 being rotated 180 degrees.
- Fixed hemisphere bricks from < 1.7 saves being scaled and positioned incorrectly.
- Fixed offroad wheel 5x2 being position incorrectly when loaded from < 1.7 saves.
- Fixed text properties being justified center rather than left.
- Fixed wheeled vehicles sometimes jumping after repairing due to the wheels snapping to
the pre-repaired rotation.
- Fixed order of bricks being changed when bricks are deleted in the editor.

- Made rims scalable.
- Allowed patterns on light bricks.
- Increased bounds size of space map.
- Fixed texture projection on scalable wheels.
- Fixed 1x1x0 image bricks from < 1.7 saves not being positioned correctly.
- Fixed a bug that caused clients to be disconnected in multiplayer.
- Fixed text bricks sometimes showing wrong color or outline in editor.
- Fixed wheel inertia tensor not scaling correctly.
- Fixed duplicating brick as mirrored breaking rotation for very specific values.
- Fixed overlapping geometry on axle 1x1x1s mesh.

Information from Fluppi regarding today's patch. (Information from Discord 22/07/24)

- Reworked vehicle movement replication again to reduce latency and improve performance as well as interaction between vehicles (for example trailers).
- Made vehicle spawn failure reasons more elaborate.
- Fixed editor light visualization mesh rotating when light angle is set to 90 degrees.
- Fixed large vehicles spawning in multiplayer but not replicating afterwards.
- Fixed 1x1x1 hemisphere from < 1.7 saves being positioned incorrectly.
- Fixed all Workshop creations being shown when no vehicles are selected in whitelist.
- Fixed fluid dynamics causing vehicles to glitch out in multiplayer.

Information from Fluppi regarding today's patch. (Information from Discord 25/07/24)

- Fixed projectile damage from clients not being applied to vehicles.
- Fixed vehicle teleporting back to start position after client exiting it.
- Fixed scaled wheels being shaded incorrectly with ray tracing.

Information from Fluppi regarding today's patch. (Information from Discord 26/07/24)

- Another hot fix is out that should fix issues with vehicle input not working, actuators behaving weirdly etc. This was caused by changes made internally for the mod kit, apologies for the annoyance

Information from Fluppi regarding today's patch. (Information from Discord 01/08/24)

- Another small patch is out to fix the whitelist not working after restarting the game. If there are no major bugs or issues remaining, update 1.7 will go public very soon!

Known issues/bugs

- Some issues with fonts, especially with other languages e.g - Russian.
- Bricks not being compatible with mirror mode. New flare brick and 1/3 Axels

Simple guide to switching to the experimental beta. (Please, for the sake of our sanity, refer to this guide and thread when you have vehicle/creation issues. 9 times out of 10 it is because you can't read.) ;P

I see. I also tested various vehicle gun bricks and didn't experience any issues.

I have, however, seen some bug reports on the Br Discord that include issues with these bricks and projectile behaviour. So you're not the only one.

i have uninstalled ALL of my mods, currently am verifying integrity of files, and i'm going to test the game again

it seems like every time you spawn a vehicle with the ingame workshop, theres a chance it will fail to load, and the "Downloading vehicle" will be stuck on your screen until you reload the game

you can simply respawn the vehicle, but that is gonna be stuck on your screen

a new discovery, it seems you can get rid of it by disabling and enabling the HUD (atleast that worked for me)

also, why the hell can missiles collide with eachother???? its cancerous

it makes multiple heat seeking missile unusable unless they are REALLY far from eachother
