REPORT BUGS HERE [UPDATED]
Hello everyone,

To help us rectify issues discovered within the game could you please submit details about the crash/issue to us at support@marvelousgames.com along with the full specifications of your machine (I.E via DXDiag) using the specified subject header(s) shown below:

The following issues have been resolved:
  • An issue wherein the game would hang or loop on loading screens into missions and at various points throughout the game.

This latest patch, can be accessed through the Beta Branch options. Information as follows:

  • Right Click VALKYRIE DRIVE -BHIKKHUNI-

The "No Sound" & "Startup Crash" issue has been fixed in this patch; details on how to access this can be found below:

  • Issues wherein the game would crash on start-up
  • An issue wherein the game would start with no sound output
  • An issue wherein 'Checking DLC' would be displayed indefinitely
  • An issue wherein Prof. Kongo's audio would break
  • An issue wherein certain character abilities would break the game
  • An issue wherein the game would display the wrong button inputs for controllers
  • An issue wherein the game would display inputs opposite to the current control method
  • An issue wherein Log.TXT would not be populated or generated with data after a launch-based crash
  • A variety of text based errors have been corrected

  • Open Steam Library
  • Right Click VALKYRIE DRIVE -BHIKKHUNI-
  • Navigate to 'Properties'
  • Select Tab 'BETA'

  • Once authorised select 'beta_log_test' please try the fixes and let us know the results by emailing support@marvelousgames.com

Testing the Fix

  • Run VALKYRIE DRIVE -BHIKKHUNI- after selecting one of the branches above
  • Play for a short while, confirm the fix
  • Close the game with the X button on the top right side of the window
  • Open the Log.txt file located in the following folder by default:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Valkyrie Drive\DeploymentRoot
  • Check if the log file has been updated (the date should change)
  • Send the log file to: support@marvelousgames.com

sent the email with my DxDiag.txt, but my Log.txt is 0 bytes in size

Your issue is likely the read/write speed of an external 2.5" hard drive. I'm assuming you have it connected via USB as well, which is extremely slow. I noticed the "Checking for DLC" process is extremely fast (2-3 seconds) when the game is installed on my SSD, and it is longer (10-15 seconds) when installed on my standard HDD. You may want to consider installing the games on a faster drive if waiting bothers you.

Well, my problem is that the game literally doesn't move past checking for dlc. It just goes on and on.

I was able to resolve the start-up crash by trying a lot of things: I verified the game cache and there were no files missing, so this was not the solution. I then disabled the steam overlay, unplugged my headphones, unplugged all the controllers and then restarted my computer. I logged out of Steam because I auto login on Windows start up. Then when I logged in Steam and started the game, it somehow worked

Yeah i was getting the gray screen too, i assumed it was because i messed with the nvidia settings for the game, though it seemed to run fine on my intel processor except for it being really slow.
Waited a few hours and then it just started working on my nvidia?
I donno, it might come back but i started the game numerous times after it worked again and i didn't get the gray screen once.
Weird bug
Game is crashing 100% of the time when I go online to ranking screen. Crashes randomly after about 10 seconds.

It varies depending on your Operating System; but if you have Windows 10 you can simpy search 'DXDiag' in the search box next to the Windows Icon. This will bring up the DXDIAG screen and you can press the 'save all information' button to save the information to a text file.
